A call came in reporting a suspicious vehicle with guns and explosives in it. When the cops showed up they were attacked from a heavily wooded residential area resulting in the carnage.
It could have been an ambush set up that way. It could have been something else and the bad guy wasn't expecting the police to show up but when they did he decided to open fire.
They have the perp in custody so we'll see how it shakes out. I don't know if it was a planned ambush for cops, a planned ambush for someone else, or something bigger (related or unrelated to police) that was disrupted by the initial report coming in.
Whatever the case it's insane and the perp needs to pay.

If that pans out this guy was on a mission to kill cops. They are just trying to see if the white van matches up at both scenes.
Dude is off his rocker regardless but hopefully he did do both crimes so that there isn't another nut out there.
