It sounds like this guy grew up in Berkeley (what other town has schools like his?) and watched CNN and MSDNC all day. Unclear if his family was on welfare. Democrat voter for Obama. Surprisingly, he could still think for himself under the circumstances. Some of you Dems could learn from his story.

It's street smarts. It's from growing up under tough conditions and having to adapt and grow from a young age rather than growing up in a bubble. It's from the fact that schools teach you what to think, not how to think, or to question what society tells you is true. It's because people learn more through experience than from theory. It's because nanny government would rather give you a fish than teach you to fish. Blah blah blah....

I'm dealing with a great guy now in business. His wife is an attorney, well educated and dumber than a rock when it comes to common sense and practical. Luckily they make a good couple.

Well educated does not mean smart in day to day, common sense issues.

In times of Crisis would you follow someone with Common sense or a PHD from Harvard?

Because education isn’t a measure of intelligence.

Well, I think it comes from a place of arrogance where many of the highly-educated also believe that due to their education that they clearly have all of the answers and are always the smartest person in the room, that we just need to listen to them and our problems will be solved.

I don't think they are. Many people have a college education these days to their betterment without losing what is called common sense. Uneducated people often are not as informed as they believe they are.

The uneducated always love to think of themselves as educated. Bigger inferiority complex than short man disease.

Because sitting through four years of poly-sci listening to some far left Prof spew Marxist rhetoric isn't an "education".

the #walkaway twitter link has many good videos from minorities who have learned that the democratic party thinks they too stupid to think for themselves.
