The U.S. economy entered a recession in February, a group of economists declared Monday, ending the longest expansion on record.
The economists said employment peaked in February and fell sharply afterward, marking the beginning of the downturn.

The unemployment rate is officially 13.3%, down from 14.7% in April. Both figures are higher than in any other downturn since World War II. A broader measure of underemployment that includes some of the unemployed who have given up looking and those who have been reduced to part-time status is 21.2%.
Come on, y'all, that is fake news and everybody knows it. There is no recession, and if the Dow has been any indication lately, then you can clearly see that things are looking up. People who lost jobs during COVID-19 (in case you have suddenly forgotten) will certainly get back on their feet again. We will have an explosive, crazy-good third quarter.
You need to stop looking at Fake News. They will mislead you.

The source is the AP referencing National Bureau of Economic Research, not the NYT.

Pretty much every news source is reporting the same, but if you'd rather pretend its not happening, then be my guest. Maybe you'll find a Tweet, or FB post which you can use as evidence to argue it is not happening.
I agree that most of the damage will be repaired on its own as is the case with any natural disaster.

I have not seen that, but if you say so. You hang out in those leftist circles so you probably know better.

You are aware that it was the National Bureau of Economic Research that declared the U.S. entered a recession in February.....and not the New York Times.....right? The New York Times is simply reporting what the NBER said.
Just making sure you don't actually believe that it was the NYT that declared the recession....
I don't even like Biden but that is the clearest i've seen him speak in awhile.
