In case any of you believe the group "Black Lives Matter" actually helps black folk (at least black that are not in Congress)... click on the donate button on their website - or just hover over it so you see the link. It goes to an ActBlue webpage.
Now just to complete the circle on how crazy this is.
It is said that the racial bias is systemic. Black folk at over a 90% rate vote for Democrats. They are voting for the people that run the local governments where these deaths and systemic racism repeatedly occur and where many of their communities have been at least partially burned down. And those making the most noise want to keep voting for those who run these systems. What am I missing here??
Act Blue processes donations, it doesn't "give" money to anyone. So yes, Democratic candidates, along with causes that Dems support such as BLM have their donations processed through Act Blue.
And oh, look, the GOP has set up an entity to do exactly the same thing!
Quote:
It took a while to come up with a good name for the GOP’s new fundraising vehicle, one that would effectively match the grassroots small-donor energy tapped by the other side in 2018. “Patriot Pass” was the original choice–until Robert Kraft fretted that it sounded too similar to his NFL team. Then, “ActRed,” a direct replica of the Democratic organization it was mimicking, was considered—until marketer-in-chief President Trump shot it down, arguing that Republicans win. So, this summer, “WinRed” was born.
The larger point, if you take the entirety of the post, is that black folk that vote Democrat - vote for their own systemic racism.
That's exactly the point, but you have to understand that it'll be over some people's head.
