The ACLU has recently shown itself to not be the defender of American liberties that is always presented itself to be, but rather to be an agent of the Far Left that selectively advocates for Rights depending on how they will help or hurt the Left.

There are very few people who qualify as "Press" in America. Most media agents are open propagandists. The UN takes a dim view of propagandists. They can operate in America but don't expect sympathy from anyone but coastal immigrants and the merchant class.

And again I'm not talking about racists a-holes. Just some examples of viewpoints under attack:

- Taking offense at kneeling during the national anthem
- Questioning if police brutality is automatically racism if the cop is white and suspect black
- Questioning if the protests were mainly peaceful or not

So we have actual government infringement of the 1st amendment happening right now. But you're concerned about wanting protection from consequences of your speech, from the speech of others. That right?

I'm not saying regulation nor more laws is the answer either. But you're justifying VIOLENCE, Looting Burning and Intimidation just because "It's not Government" doing it.

That's wrong. When even the Police are either afraid to enforce exiting laws, or told NOT TO ENFORCE THE LAW by their Political leaders, against illegal violence, looting, arson, etc. something is TERRIBLY WRONG with society.

You don't even recognize the problem so there will be no reasoning with you, but in case you're actually listing the problem is the mob is ascribing corollary viewpoints to people speaking about issues with the conspiracy assumption that they are closet racists or closet "bad people", as an example

Anything that does not push the popular cause is taken to be holding it back

"You're either 100.00% with us on everything or you are the enemy and we will stamp you out in every way possible. We don't even want to hear what you have to say and we'll make sure everyone keeps the microphone away from you by bullying them too."

And they are in their right to voice even if you don't agree with it.

What you are championing for is exactly the opposite of your intent.... If you silence the voice of dissenting opinion, you effectively also silence your own voice to opinion.

I said no such thing.

If someone assaults or harasses you for voicing your opinion, there already exist laws to address that.

As for looting.. notice that police have no problems aggressively treating protesters during the day but retreat at night? The only thing cities have done to address that issue, is a curfew. There are also elements of looting/opportunists that hide among the crowds with no intention to protest but to loot?... sure.. blame the boogyman "leftist" for that...

Do you think the Times apologizing for the Tom Cotton op-ed and forcing the editor to resign is a good thing for our society?
