Name a deal Trump concocted that he thought the Dems might play with.

Bull to Trump saying he was willing to deal. Trump's idea of a deal is his deal or no deal. He's not the best negotiator. LOL......

EVen his business past demonstrates clearly his inability to negotiate a deal. He's on record agreeing to a contract and then purposely not meeting the terms of the deal knowing he could outspend a smaller contractor/individual in court. That's not negotiating....that's abuse of power.

THere was never any indicating of Trump being the kind of guy that would give a little. In fact in his mind a trade deal isn't a deal -- it's a zero sum game.

For Trump it's always a win or lose game -- it is NEVER a compromise.

And that's what a deal is -- it's a compromise -- both parties win.......

I don't agree with the rest of it, but that is my opinion, and I respect yours. But the bolded applies to all things, partisan and non-partisan. It really has been a catalyst of divisiveness.
Thank you. I appreciate that we can agree on the catalyst even though we disagree on politics. I think it especially got bad with Twitter.

"kind and compassionate people" don't build successful enterprises; nor do they lead well when the chips are down.

I must disagree here. These qualities are not going to automatically make one an unsuccessful leader. There can be kind and compassionate successful leaders and also unkind and indifferent ones.

I would agree that Vlad the Impaler was a successful leader for a time in his circumstances, you can probably think of others. We don't need that kind of leadership in 21st century peacetime USA though.

The people of a democratic republic have a right to expect the best from their leaders. The leadership exists solely to serve the people, not the other way around.

I am generally conservative and I dislike Trump pretty intensely as a person, as it is pretty clear that he is a deplorable human being who lacks the temperament & character to be the leader that we ideally should have in the White House. So, I will admit that I am strongly considering any other candidates on the ballot. I truly wish that we had a sane conservative candidate from the Republican party but he is the President and is the candidate, so I have to accept that.

On the flip side, Biden is a bit of a moderate but the angry mob that he's having to deal with on the far left are going to be incredibly difficult for him to reign in and I could easily see him caving in on topic after topic and policy after policy to try and appease them. That would be very disheartening to see but there is so much insanity coming from the left and they are drowning out any sane voices. So, a vote for Biden would pretty much feel like a vote for BLM and their extremist allies on the far-left and I don't want them to feel for a second that I support the insanity and unrest that they have caused our country.

We really have two poor choices among the major party candidates and I think there will be plenty of social unrest in November regardless of which one wins. I think I may just vote for a 3rd party candidate as a form of protest against the two major party candidates, though I recognize that voting for a 3rd party candidate is often viewed as throwing away your vote.

It doesn’t matter what Biden is. Even if he wins he won’t run anything. And he’s going to choose some progressive woman for VP. So your point is moot.

We need all the votes we can get. The worst that can happen if Trump wins is four more years of whining by the left and good judges. The worst we will get from Democrats is complete and utter transformation of our country, and not in a good way. I cannot vote for them. It will be good for the moderate democrats to see that the country isn’t ready for the far left progressives. If Biden wins, then there is no chance of them going more to the middle.

It's so sad that you see things the way you do. There's nothing I can say which would change your mind, so I'm not going to try. I'll just say that some would disagree, and their opinions are every bit as valid as yours.
