That's weird because there is an ongoing thread right now claiming that the right wing is lying when they accuse ANTIFA of violence and involvement in this stuff.

who said people should get off Scott free? I certainly didn't.

Here is what I do think.

Both peace and non peaceful protest are valid forms of protest. America is a violent country, founded on violence, and violence is the way things get done and the way America enforces. It has been this day from day one. Come one, the Boston Tea Party was a protest that destroyed property. Because they knew it would get a reaction from the Brits.

You can agree with the protests and mission, agree with destruction as a valid tactic, have sympathy for people who feel this is the only way to be heard and not condone the act. These are all separate things.

Separately, there is an issue on who should get punished for property destruction and looting. So yes, technically everyone should get punished. In lieu of that, then focus on the kingpins. Just like in the drug trade, the tiny dealers really shouldn't bear the brunt of the punishment, the top of the food chain should. And incidents where people get hurt are worse than ones where stuff is stolen.

Locally a Best Buy got looted. Someone came with a crane. Now that to me looks premeditated, no one keeps a crane in their backyard just in case protest are going on and accidentally rolls up to Best Buy to tear down the doors. So yeah that person should be punished pretty harshly. Now if there is a kid who was walking buy and grabbed a playstation game? Well he should get punished, but not as harshly as crane guy. He probably should get a slap on the wrist baring other circumstances.

And what is the balance? Right now tons of peaceful protestors are getting hurt and maimed by police officers with rubber bullets and tear gas, and while other people committing heists are getting ignored by law enforcement. That is the sign of a broken system to me.

Sorry, but "what you think"........

Is wrong.
