Oh that's rich, considering the violence we've witnessed the past two weeks against people of opposing viewpoints (and non-opposing viewpoints and no viewpoints at all).

They probably knew that the looters wouldnt be arrested and held, but be out on the street 12 hrs later, so what's the point. And you can't be up in atms about this but be ok with the CHAZ zone.
"Left- defund/dismantle cops!"
Also left- -" THERE'S LOOTING AND COPS AREN'T DOING ANYTHING, BUT DRINKING COFFEE, AND EATING POPCORN!"

Since when does guarding an office include breaking into it, never mind doing the things they were doing?
I guess maybe the good Congressman forgot to give them his spare key?

There's no link because that detail is being deliberately omitted from the narrative so cop-hating Rep. Rush has something to thump his chest about and cowardly Mayor Beetlejuice can deflect blame away from City Hall. However I know people on the force and they personally saw the post assignment in the police dispatch. You think it wouldn't have occurred to these guys there might be security cameras in the office of a sitting Congressman and they just happened to choose HIS office for an ad hoc breakroom?

These guys have been working 12-hour shifts in a major conflict zone with no days off and often no lunch breaks, and I'm supposed to be outraged a couple hungry and exhausted cops helped themselves to some of the Congress-creep's microwave popcorn and took a breather while they were guarding his office? Of the top ten million things I'm gonna get worked up about these days, this ranks somewhere at or below the ten-million-and-first.

The union rep that spoke in the video would have most likely stated that they were tasked with guarding the office, if that was the case, but this still smells pretty bad.

I am curious how they got in. Forced entry would have been easily spotted in most cases, so a key or access code was known? How did they have that then?

And how stupid would they have to be to lounge around like that if they had broken in, with cameras in the room? Or does Bobby Rush have hidden cameras in his office? Hmmmmmm.......
The cops actions in the photos and video dont look like a break in and malingering. Too relaxed.

I would not be surprised if these cops are being thrown under the bus for a non related reason, and this "break in" video is being used against them. Chicago politics smell like poo 99% of the time, and this does too.

BTW, what language is Bobby Rush speaking in that video?

Wait, what?

Looting private property violates the non aggression principle!

Doesn't Santa Monica have any brave anarcho-capitalists ready to step in and assist fellow citizens when the state willfully fails at protecting them?

Chicago PD has been known for its corruption for a very long time. This doesn't surprise me.

I was under curfew.

Your goons would have caged/killed me if I tried.

Why did you have them do that?
