The issue isn't that I feel "it's fine to use someone else's neighborhood for their 'social experiment'". The issue is that the City clearly has no plan to deal with this. So they have fallen back to the tried and true strategy of doing nothing, which involves giving aid and comfort to the "cause" while hoping the controversy will just die down so they won't have to deal with it. That's probably where Durkan is at.

That's the benign explanation. The more toxic one is that certain members on the council (Sawant, Mosqueda, and Gonzalez in particular) not only give support to a cause, they go out of their way to inflame it. Sawant's antics are well-known; she is a far left answer to that well-known agent provocateur who currently resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Mosqueda was caught recently giving support to those using a bullhorn to implore Seattle cops to kill themselves (h/t Jason Rantz, mynorthwest.com). As for other six on the council, they are both too weak and too unprincipled to stand up to those three bullies.

Given that political dynamic, it's hard to see an easy fix. So the ball is in the hands of the Seattle citizenry as a whole, not just the residents of Wokeistan. If they want something done, they're going to have to make themselves heard. Loudly.

Although I have some ideas, I don't know precisely what form that would take. I do know, however, that this should be a wake-up call (pun intended) for the vast majority who have basked too long in the comfort of a complacent, virtue-signaling attitude toward politics in their city. If they want change, they'll have to fight for it.

The put that image of the man with the gun into the photo.

According to some media sources (if we can even trust these sources).

It’s funny, but sad at the that several people have said that their was no armed elements within the CHAZ and that it was all made up by the Far-Right and Trump supporters.

The truth is the truth and it’s important that all the truth be told, regardless if it makes the Left or Right look bad.
