When you want to divulge these common myths - we are here to listen...
All you have to do is listen to your Heritage video and there you find the myths presented in classic conservative fashion. As if we're all supposed to accept them as truths? Again based on what facts, research, data? Also again, you've really got to be kidding, but I'm not fool enough to think any further effort with you can be productive if you can't get off first base. You're like the guy asking the loaded questions as if we're all fools...
"Have you stopped beating your wife?"
But I get it! Tactics like yours do tend to work with people like you. Fortunately not with everyone however...
"For the great enemy of truth is very often not the lie--deliberate, contrived and dishonest--but the myth--persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the cliches of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought." -- JFK
But where are the examples of Republican lead cities (not podunks) that are models of success, education, and racial harmony that everyone eludes to but no can provide the name for?
Not a bad question...
If any semblance of balance is to be had here. Thanks.
Less and/or more without specifics makes for another rather say-nothing statement. To further the myths perhaps?
I'm a progressive, and what I would appeal for is BETTER government! Call me what you will...
Progressives seem to view the monopoly on violence (government) as a tool to achieve their societal goals, and they’re not very shy about it.
Conservatives are more of a mixed bag. Some have that same attitude, and others at least speak as if government is a necessary evil that should be limited.
I can’t fully side with either since I see any form of authoritarianism as evil, but that’s definitely a difference between the two.

Either way, without specifics, you're just back to making broad-brushed statements about the likes in more say-nothing fashion. Again, I'm a progressive, and one who always shutters a bit when mindless political mud slinging goes on instead of a focus on what matters. Insults large or small, direct or indirect, always how the others don't think straight or right. Maybe that's more fun, easier, or who knows what, but it's not to intelligent or productive far as I'm concerned. A waste of time in any case.
Also again, I'm not for any more government than necessary. I'm not wanting to pay a dime more in taxes than I need to. Why I call for better government, not more or less. More can be a good thing just as less can be a good thing. Depends on the specifics! No different from how a company looks at it's business plan. Where to spend money and how, more or less. Right? No company wants to spend more than necessary to achieve maximum profitability, but obviously the specifics matter! Spend more or less on what exactly? Advertising? More people? Layoffs? More or less retail outlets? Better training?
Most conservatives I have met would gladly let others suffer for some financial gain.
The modern philosophy of conservatism is how to maximize your own wealth and let your country survive on its own.
When republicans were offshoring labor in the 2000s, conservatives and the tea party would wag their fingers and tell people they should work harder if they have lost everything and say its none of their business.
Conservatives have been the least patriotic people in this country, even less than well to do progressives with cushy professional jobs.

If you get my meaning, please...
I agree on the first paragraph.
The bold is really what I was getting at when I mentioned people’s mentalities on government. There’s the mentality that government/political power itself isn’t inherently evil, it’s just a matter of how you use it - that’s most progressives and many conservatives.
The other view is that government is inherently evil because it is the initiation of force against peaceful people - libertarian-leaning conservatives, constitutionalists, many of the founding fathers had/have this view, although they believed it was a necessary evil to have forcefully funded courts, military, etc.
(Then you have us fringe weirdos who believe society can exist and thrive using force purely defensively.)

When you want to divulge these common myths - in your own words - we are here to listen. Based on your prior response - there might not actually be any myths that you can point to. If I'm wrong - by all means educate us please. Trying to learn.
