Why burn down that Wendy’s? Regardless of what happened between the cops and the shooting victim, how does burning down that Wendy’s help?? I hope the arsonists are held accountable, otherwise this will send a terrible message all around.
That Wendy's may even had been owned and operated by a minority - perhaps even black people from that very community. Terrible for people trying to lawfully make it in life, while providing the community with local amenities.
One of the cleanest, nicest, and friendliest franchise of a globally recognized fast-food chain I’ve been to was located in poor, higher crime area. It was owned by a respectable older black couple, based on their framed photo inside their establishment. Clearly owned and operated with pride. I can’t imagine how it would devastate them to have their livelihoods destroyed in such manner.
That was not meant to be a defense for criminal behavior. I'm simply telling it like it is. This is why people are doing what they do. It's not an excuse. It's simply the way it is. And this is why I've said that for some of these individuals, it's too late. We're talking about a subculture of persons who shoot and ask questions later. We're dealing with people who've dealt in violence their whole lives. It's all they know. They're not going to listen to you or me. All they've known to understand is violence. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. The only way murder rates have even gone down in most cities effectively is gentrification. Many of those violent criminals only stop after being killed. Those Black people who aren't criminals will look for any way to get out of the neighborhood.
By the way, I know plenty about those statistics. I also know it's one specific part of the Black population involved in this, the underclass. The underclass keeps on doing what they do.
I've never once said that violent behavior is the answer. You can't point to a time where I've said it was the answer. I've never advocated violence. I've said that for many of these individuals, violence is the only thing they know. By the time they're 20, some of them don't care if they live or die. Tell me this. What can you do with an individual who doesn't care if they live or die? What do you do about someone who has such severe anger issues, to the point where they shoot (in some cases literally shoot) and ask questions later? The time to have reached those individuals to keep them from criminal behavior was like age 5 or 6. I've even said in other threads that many of those individuals were raised in violent households.
I have worked with many of these individuals in the last two years. In fact many staff say I am one of the most consistent with using program language and being fair to whomever I work with. I know a number whether white, Hispanic or African-American come from families who have been in jail, broken families or the foster system. Many can very easily be just another statistic of the prison system or shot by police with unnecessary force someday. I do my best to be that relationship that they can develope resislency where they don't need to resort to violence.
Even with the video last night of the struggle and Brooks fleeing, CNN’s narrative was “Black man killed by white cops while sleeping in Wendy’s drive thru”
My guess is now that there's body cam footage to go along with the video of the struggle the MSM will downplay or ignore the shooting.
Any metro area in America that is more than 30% black should have a hiring ratio of 1 white cop to every 4 black cops.
I know this is racist, but this seems to be what the left is driving us to. Everything is about race and the left uses it as a weapon. Let's take that weapon away from them.
Race is a component, but they don't need it for this fight, which is against the uniform. Doesn't matter who's wearing it. Seen the ACAB acronym around at all? All Cops Are Bastards. They don't care what race the cop is.
This is a war on cops, at the front line, and a war on the existing governmental structure at a fundamental level. Demoralizing law enforcement is a necessary component of getting the People to lose faith in their government, and they're doing it. Seen all the stories of entire teams resigning? And what's the public perception of cops right now? You think anyone's signing up for that job?
People need to start seeing what this really is about, or the left is going to finish what they started nearly a century ago. We're close to the fail safe point. I don't think people really understand what's at stake here.
True, but a defense attorney (you know how they are) will say "but did he, but did he, but did he??" They will plant that seed in the jury's head 100 percent.
Yep.
why would there be a jury? there will be no criminal charges here.
you're 100% right, the cop will get a huge settlement and Mayor Bottoms who's hopes of running for VP on Biden's ticket will have a huge law suit on her hands during the whole presidential process. She's done. Probably should resign now like the Chief did. Absolutely no due process afforded the officer. She sure is DUMB.
Yeah, he's going to get a huge settlement and justifiable so. And why any police officer today who doesn't make sure their body cam works properly before getting into a squad car is a fool.
You'd better have video footage of every interaction with the public.
This. 1000x this. If more people did more of this, the world would be a much different, and nicer, place to live in.
the sad truth is the loudest complainers could never get through the application process to become a cop. They wouldn't cut it by virtue of their past, credit history or physical condition.
