Tokyo is the most futuristic place I’ve ever been to, that can be considered a major city. I was thinking of Dubai as well, but most of those buildings were built in the last 20 years. It remains to be the seen where that city goes in the future.

Not sure how I feel about Shanghai tbh. It does have some impressive areas like Pudong, but I can’t say that’s true of the whole place.

I haven’t been to Singapore but Shanghai makes the other cities you listed seem outdated.
No I haven't, the Chinese seem to build from scratch and Quickly,. I would love to try the high speed rail there. Europe is old but their public transit and high speed rail blows America away. It seems like America will never produce great cities.

We don't have the money to build modern cities...we give it all away to the rest of the world so that they can build modern cities.

Correction...we dont give it away, our politicians, big biz, and their accomplices are selling us all out.

They win, we lose.

Simple, we don't invest in infrastructure.

American cities are populated with a bunch of savages rioting, looting and burning down their own neighborhoods. There is nothing "futuristic" there-unless you consider "Planet of the Apes" as futuristic. Or maybe Escape from New York.

A place like NYC or Chicago or LA is one major catastrophe away from widespread civil unrest, like the NYC blackout. The mob has seen how weak these. Even on good days, alot of our cities seem dystopian.

The name of this thread is FALSE for what it seems to be about. It is a thread that merely is to make a Political statement and nothing else on FUTURISTIC as the TITLE SUGGEST.

Unless one wishes to want to build more walls maybe as a future proposal for our cities and a big beautiful wall built around them? Seems that would work for the OP?

I feel duped in searching new post and seeing the title. and then the first post is totally not what I thought in any way on the title. I feel baited with a fake intent.

Example: the Atlanta Braves left the city of Atlanta and built their futuristic stadium out in the Republican burbs where New Gingrich once ruled. No way were they going to invest that money in Atlanta that is so corrupt the FBI are investigating it.

Of course not, the Corp America parasites will swarm like flies on manure around anyplace willing to give them massive tax-breaks that wind up having the local citizenry paying the bills. Wanna guess who reportedly has reportedly gotten the most tax breaks in NYC yet sings the blues about SOCIALISM! ?

I am seriously rethinking my ideas about living in downtown DC for work. I am definitely not optimistic about the future of cities in America. Last year I was, maybe naive.

This is a nice northeast suburb in DC
