I wonder if it ever occurred to the Baltimore Mayor to defund the criminals ?

Check 'em out!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_...ime_statistics

Baltimore has had a high murder rate for many years, but the trend had been nudging downward heading toward the middle of the 2010 decade. For several years, the number of murders hovered in the low 200s, and it even dipped below that threshold one year. There was a real sense that, though the problem remained serious, real progress was being made.

But then Freddie Gray happened.

In April 2015, a violent criminal drug dealer died while in police custody (mainly due to his own actions, not that BLM will ever tell you that), and the vast crowds of criminal sympathizers erupted in rioting. Then, as now, hatred towards the police (similar to how an unruly toddler will get mad at his parents for enforcing the rules) meant that officers were harassed by crowds whenever they showed up in the slum neighborhoods to do their jobs. Predictably, the police pulled back; and just as predictably, the criminals filled the vacuum.

The number of murders skyrocketed and has remained high ever since. In 2014, 211 people were murdered in Baltimore. In 2015, about two-thirds of which was post-Freddie Gray, 344 people were murdered. This was a 63 percent (!) increase in just one year.

For those who cry out "defund the police," Baltimore gives you a sneak preview of what this will look like. And it ain't pretty.

Give the Democrats and their subjects what they want, and you get more murders, more crime.

A LOT more.

Let these leftist run cesspools continue to decline until November 3rd.

Starting November 4th, you'll see President Trump like you've never seen him before.

Something preventing the link from opening.

Has Baltimore cut their Police force?

Nothing short of one one one policing is going to prevent homicides that are committed by a minority within a minority, mostly on those of the same minority within the same minority neighborhood.

Used to be ( Late 90’s) LE had a shot of brokering some semblance of peace amongst the leaders of rival gangs. Those leaders are either dead or in prison and gangs have splintered into hundreds- thousand(s) of factions. Homicide is not limited to rival gang members. Family members are targeted. Sometimes the murder is just a random target or the victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was in the way or mistaken identity.

Goofy personal disputes via social media can and do result in homicide.

Witnesses or people with knowledge so rarely come forth because of protecting family members or fear of retaliation.

It is reasonable to assume nearly everyone in some neighborhoods is armed, legal or otherwise.

Thank you for the link.

It says the city in increasing patrolling in certain areas.

The councilman says the mayor needs to “ do something” about crowds who gather, drink and drive.

The mayor is yapping about C-19.

Impossible to tell if these are independent remarks or related to the spike of shootings/ homicides.

I have no idea what some streets in Baltimore look like on a warm night.

Most municipalities have laws about public intoxication, disorderly conduct and dui.

Maybe those who persist in this sort of activity should sign waivers:

By signing below, you acknowledge an inherent risk of being shot and killed in any public place where people gather, especially during the hours of 12:00 midnight- 5 AM. By doing so, you voluntarily assume all risks related and agree to not hold the city, elected officials, employees, contractors or agents liable for any injury or illness.

Furthermore, you agree to pay for any necessary medical services that may be necessary to save your life.

As Candace Owens and Larry Elder both agree, maybe it's time to stop blaming others and look within your own communities and find a solution to this problem.

From your own article:
"As of Wednesday morning, there have been 134 homicides in the city in 2020, six more than at the same time in 2019.

Non-fatal shootings in the city are down, with 239 reported so far in 2020 compared with 284 at the same point last year."

So....shootings are down 16% but a few of them have upped their accuracy is the only real takeaway here. Seems like a stat actually heading in the right direction.
