Taking a look at the statistics, Detroit, Memphis, Atlanta, DC all have a majority of their police officers being black. Baltimore police department is around 40% black. NYPD is majority white but close to 50/50 white/minority ratio. Cities like Miami and LA have a Hispanic majority on the police.

Regardless of racial makeup the police force, blacks and other minorities have risen to highest ranks in police departments across this country. This means that blacks and other minorities have failed to root out the systemic racism in their departments and have not been able to change the culture. This is true even when they have a majority of the officers or have people in the highest leadership positions in departments and local governments. This is true in places where they have maintained this for over a decade.

Why is this the case? Why are minorities so powerless against white racism despite overwhelming numbers and having positions of power? Why do they keep hiring white racists into their police forces? Why do minorities become racist against their own people when they get into positions of power in police departments?

Great point. Furthermore when this whole “systemic police racism” debate started it was during the Obama admin when we had a black president and a black attorney general who thoroughly investigated all these claims.

Because "systemic racism" is a myth.

Is there racism in society and policing?

Of course, police are people.......and you'll never completely get rid of racism.

But "systemic" suggests that it's widespread and engrained into the system, which is absolute nonsense.
