If it's paid by the country, then black Americans are also paying for the reparations. Unless you know of a way to separate white tax payer funds from black tax payer funds.

Reparations. (sigh) Amazing how many things money seems to solve. But since you bring up other groups of people who were oppressed by race in history....OK. let's go there.

Firstly I will always oppose reparations. Especially if Black Americans are going to be singularly granted them. You brought up the American Indians. They actu6do receive what could be considered reparations. When I tribal member turns 18 they receive a check.

In the late 70s early 80s the check amount was $25000. That was for the tribe on the Rez that bordered our family ranch. They also get subsidized housing at a price that's just unbelievable. They own the place, and these are (were) really nice places. Stick built number of beds and baths according to family size. I have done a lot of work on Rez housing. Maintenance and new construction.

Hmmm. I'm assuming you would also want similar benefits that tribal members get? Live on a designated reservation of land, no taxes, autonomy as a singular separate nation, all that stuff? I feel compelled to ask at this point, have you ever been on a rez?

Not to some casino I mean on the REZ man. The /a REAL Rez. Got any Indian buddies? Cuz if you dont I know you've never spent any time on the Rez.

Yeah, then there are what's called colonies. Indian colonies. Those are in the cities. The real Rez is out here. Corner of no and where Sagebrushville. That's where you DONT go off the beaten path unless you're with a CLOSE Indian friend that lives there.

And even then theres some places you dont go. Not if you want to live and keep your hair and I'm not exaggerating or being facetious at all. Is this what you would like to see set up for American Blacks?

Not all reservations are the same, but the ones I'm familiar with make the hood look like Sesame Street. Crips and Bloods would last maybe 5 minutes if they tried to roll on the Rez.

With all the government benefits many reservations are hell holes. Rampant drug and alcohol addiction, total below poverty level conditions a lot of people have given up hope. I've lost very dear friends to this.

Blacks think they have it so bad. I'm here to tell you some people have it way worse. And it's kinda strange out there. There are folks that are doing good. Their houses are well kept nice yards and such and the very next house or three or four and/across the road are dilapidated armpits with junk cars, trash (lots of empty beer and liquor bottles) yards full of tumbleweeds 4 foot or better tall etc etc.

Its not like theres a lot of employment opportunity with upward mobility available out there. Reservation residents also receive a monthly stipend. And more folks than not subsist on that alone.

Theres employment in a couple adjacent towns, but competition for jobs is fierce. And if you think Blacks face discrimination when it comes to jobs try being an Indian. He/she needs to have a resume that plumb rocks a squeaky clean criminal record and being a known person of quality off the Rez to not be pre judged as a booze hound druggy that would call in sick on their first day.

Still want the same "benefits" that Indians get? All that being said I've spent LOT of time with Indian folks. On and off the Rez. I've actually been those places you dont go. Because I was with a bunch of very tough very motivated I dian friends that I trust with my life.

Who I have trusted with my life and wouldn't hesitate to trust with the lives of my loved ones. I've seen the really grimy underbelly of reservation life. And personally I think that BLM a d their ilk are a bunch of sniveling whiny brats.

Reparations. Spare me. I'd rather see that money go to cleaning things up in tribal governments. That are rife with corruption I might add and to see things turned around for the folks on these reservations.

A lot of people would disagree with me. Because of what I've described above as LOT of people resent the Hell out of the Indians. Rife squalor, alcohol and drug addiction , crime on and off the Rez and on the taxpayer expense sheet. I suppose that resentment is justified.

The reservation system sucks. Do you think Blacks would fare any better? If a big fat reparations check went out to all Blacks nationwide how much of that money would just get shot into veins, snorted, smoked and drank up.?

Oh maybe nice cars, clothes, jewelry and other such luxury items. Do you want a deal like the Indians have with a guaranteed monthly stipend a designated autonomous swath of land with it's own government?

(sigh) How far do you think this should go? My Indian friends hate the current system. They live under it, they deal with it, they've all every one of them lost lived ones to the hopelessness it can bring and they've all experienced the resentment and outright hatred that it fosters.

Is THAT what you want for Black folks? I've got lots if Indian friends. Spread out on four different reservations. I've had two Black friends, that I actually called friends which mean we were close, in my whole life.

So it's fair to say I'm not steeped in Black culture the way I am with Indians. But with the latter as my basis and going by what I'm seeing a lot of Black people saying I'm just trying to draw some parallels and extrapolate from there.

So theres a few questions for you to answer. If I get any answers maybe I can draw some conclusions.

I think as black folks, if we want to be honest and deal with the facts... we need to acknowledge this stuff when white folks bring it up. This is just stupid. Last month - it was the nursing home boxer put there by the state of Michigan. We have to be better than this.

I’ve addressed it, conservative blacks have addressed it, and this site has addressed it. It’s dysfunctional households with no fathers who are breeding generations of criminals. Democrats pay single parent households more than 2 low income earner households. There’s literally a financial incentive to kick out the father.

But if there are 2 parents in the house, the odds decrease that the child will grow up to be a criminal. Without that parenting, it’s a lost hope. No amount of looting, marching, praying, kneeling, policing, or legislation can replace parenting.
