As I've been saying, it has nothing to do with re-opening early. It's going to happen to anyone that re-opens at any time in any way. If Taxas and Florida had re-opened month later they ight have seen their spike a month later but we aren't going to be able to stay locked down until a vaccine is available, if ever.

Then why isn’t it happening in Europe

That's a myth. Australia just re-locked down Melbourne, South Korea saw an uptick in new cases this past week, and Japan is considering re-imposing emergency measures after 5 straight days of rapid increases.

Look at the number of cases that triggers a lockdown in other places. Minuscule compared to what is happening here. Then they contact trace and get everyone quarantined and people actually comply. Not like here. We are failing at this.

So people were dying at a greater rate in April because they weren't staying home? Where were they going? Everything was closed.

Most of those places have a tiny population compared to ours.

We really need contact tracing in Texas. If only businesses would require their employees to be under contact tracing, it would really help.

Hospitals changes the way they treated patients, prescription drugs, slow to intubate, putting people on their stomachs and at this point many at risk are remaining home.

China and India? OK.

Everyone has done a better job than we have.

Agree. In Florida, restaurants and bars do NOT have to disclose to the public whether there is an outbreak at the restaurant or bar. Customers that were in attendance have no way to know whether they have been exposed to Covid there and there are no contract tracers to contact them.

Some restaurants choose to contact the local press to identify an outbreak. Some restaurants choose to remain silent. Could be hundreds of people exposed that might want to be tested or isolated from others after eating at the restaurant that is associated with an outbreak of Covid positives. But people in Florida have no idea whether there was a big outbreak at a restaurant they visited. State rules allow the Covid outbreak associated with bars/restaurants to be hidden.
