Since anyone in N Europe likely has a viking ancestor and I have plenty of those. They have my permission to use a viking.

Fascinating history of the brand--but not the best way to market a product, at all. It is pretty distasteful.

This specific brand does read as "antiquated" and pretty offensive, and I agree, that in this case, they should look to cast a new image, name and look.

That nasty stuff hasn’t been maple syrup for decades. There’s not one drop of maple syrup in it. It’s all just high fructose corn syrup with added artificial maple syrup flavor and artificial color to fool you.

All of it is bad for you.

Spend a few more bucks and get actual maple syrup. Look at the ingredients.
