Atlanta Police Department

Earlier suggestions that multiple officers from each zone had walked off the job were inaccurate. The department is experiencing a higher than usual number of call outs with the incoming shift. We have enough resources to maintain operations & remain able to respond to incidents.
Sorry righties, looks like you dystopian dreams are on hold.
Notice the replies about the radio silence and the mayor did address this saying that there was an issue.
They can be replaced. Police jobs are very popular. It's probably the only high-paying job that does not require a college degree (most departments don't require a college degree). With overtime, cops in CA for example, can make more than doctors.
Very interesting. Ralph_Kirk posted in the George Floyd thread that the cops who gave him the most grief when he had been stopped were black cops (Ralph is black).
The people simply do not deserve police protection. Hopefully cops across the country will go on strike for a few weeks to remind people why they are needed. After a few "purge" weeks, the stupidity will likely stop.
Exactly. A nationwide strike by law enforcement for about six months will be about right.

Not just that black cops are 67% more likely to shoot an unarmed black suspect than white cops, Hispanic cops are 145% more likely than white cops to shoot unarmed black suspects.
I don’t work for NYPD. I am with the feds. My field office is in Southern California but our hiring center is in the Midwest. Yes, there is nepotism within federal, but it is usually with promotion and advancement (aka brown nosers)
Nepotism thrives in the political arena, most all state and federal positions. Why would it not exist within the police department.

I'm thinking more like a month, if it went to six, I don't think our major cities would ever recover.
