Elderly Patriots
IMHO, the best way to stop the vandalism of historical monuments is to have ELDERLY PATRIOTS stand up to these vandals.
One media event of an oldster (grandma?) slapping a vandal will do wonders.
Better yet, one media event, where a gang attacks an elderly defender will puncture their balloon.
The youth think they're morally superior. They need some common sense imparted by the older generation.
These savages have shown that they are more than willing to attack the elderly. Bunch of cowards. Now if you want to arm them, that's a different story-an elderly grandma putting a Hydra Shok into a looter or vandal would be great for PPV.

I think Gandhi's non-violent self sacrifice will do far more damage.
You have to eliminate their false belief that they are morally superior.
Once they harm the elderly, they have lost all credibility.

The best way to stop the vandalism is to remove these confederate statues to a museum. Why do we honor men when many feel they were traitors to our country.

Then why should anybody honor thugs, rioters and looters, when many feel they are traitors, and treasonous, seditious uncivilized rabble?
There's two side to every coin. But right now, there's only one side doing the bullying. Guess whom it is that those in the majority believes that is.
Yes, I'm elderly, as much as I hate to admit it. I know that people will take so much, until there is a backlash to be dealt with. I think that is some history that Antifa/BLM, or whatever is going to have to learn the hard way.
I always favored leaving everything up just so people could see how messed up society was/is.
In reality if it's "public" monuments on "public" land you can do anything you want to them. There is no rightful claim to them. It's basically disregarded dumping/littering on non-privatized land.
If only we had capitalism then everything would be properly owned via homesteading and none of this would be an issue.
But we insist on being socialists...for whatever reason.

Anyone who is offended by history wants to hide the truth from being remembered.

Honoring one's defeated enemies and especially their dead is a long standing practice. We see examples of this in Roman history, where fallen enemies are not reviled nor their cause ridiculed, nor their memories tarnished. Perhaps this is to appease the spirits or to not agitate the descendants into seeking revenge.
Whatever the reason, it is an accepted practice.
To attack them and their memory is considered uncivilized, uncultured, contemptible and / or ignoble.
MAGNANIMITY IN VICTORY MARKED THE CIVIL WAR’S END
Upon news of General Lee’s surrender, General Grant admonished Union soldiers who were firing salutes to mark their victory. “Stop that firing,” he said sternly, “The Rebels are our countrymen again.”
Lincoln and Grant knew the Confederates were once more part of the union. To be harsh or spiteful, or punish them, or throw the Union's win in their face, was not going to do anybody any good. To disfigure, remove and eradicate memorials of the Confederacy is an insult to their memories as well as the magnanimity and generosity of the victors. It is a shame if we allow history to fall out of the minds of our people because of an ignorant, vindictive, and spiteful attitude of a few.

The south lost so stop with the worship of losers.
Well, if you can hustle up a Confederate patriot, they are going to be quite elderly.
