So tiresome. When you fight the police, steal their Taser, and run away while pointing the stolen Taser at the police, whatever happens next is on you.
Nope - As the DA has made clear that is not how it is supposed to work.
They should simply have run him down and taken him into custody. The shooting of an unarmed man is not acceptable. And if they needed more backup they should have gotten it.
Keeping in mind they were both white.. - yes.
And if I were not there, things could have turned pretty bad for him for no fault of his own.
Truth to be told, people put too much trust in the "righteousness of law" in America.
It all depends who was in charge of situation that day, who ( and how) wrote the report, what defense was there ( public defender or hired lawyer) and so on.
And then you need to keep in mind, that the next cop/person in charge would look at the previous case ( not knowing all the details of it, but just what has been put in a system BEFORE him/her,) and makes the next decision based on THAT.
And that's how the snowball of the "criminal history" keeps on growing.
And when it comes to Blacks - that's particularly the case.

Funny thing is, if Brooks went to rob a store with that taser, he would have been considered armed, Georgia classifies a taser as a firearm.
I think it is Jesse Waters on Fox news that said he was so scared of being handcuffed because he would go back to jail, because he was on probation and that would be a probation violation.
That might explain why suddenly the handcuffs gave him such terror.

Really? On June 10 Atlanta police officers were accused of using excessive deadly force for using a taser while arresting a careful of college kids.
Rayshard Brooks was unarmed even though he was pointing a taser? Can’t have it both ways.

Some folks react when being bound- seriously- go berzerk with out intention. I don't know why that is, but ever try to grab a 3 yrs old - that wasn't coming up to you willingly? My 3 yr old once punched his older brother 7, and made his nose bleed because he came up behind him during a scary movie and my little one reacted. Now hes almost 40 yet very easy going fella... never fought at school... like his bros- it was a reaction.
I say old pains, and fear cause that, and add drugs or liquor the perfect storm.
The more Floyd's baby mama cried, the more the MILLIONS went up. The more the brother cried and said cops were killers, the BIGGER the fund went. They know exactly what they are doing. They even nudged the 6 year old in an interview and she talked like her mama prompted her, saying things to tug at the hearts of America to get a bigger piece of the pie. They are disgusting and all the money they crafted should go to the pregnant women he robbed and terrorized.
The money only comes from one side...
People with common sense know to hear both sides and wait till the facts come out and that a case should be tried in a court of law.
We all know some prosecutors make mistakes and there are smart defense lawyers who use that to get a guilty person off like in the Casey Anthony case and OJ’s case.
Over charging is often also a reason that a case may end differently.
IMO when a cop is charge to the degree that this cop is charged, when the dead person should just have cooperated and would have been alive, then we know this case is all political and to give into the protesters wish and demands.
The DA had so many insane statements that the DA may soon be off the case.
Especially when a tape already was shown where the DA made within weeks, total opposite statements. These tapes will probably be allowed in court, otherwise justice will for sure not be served.
Two faced DA says Brooks was no threat with the taser but two weeks prior.....
This is despite the fact that earlier this month, Howard charged several police officers in an excessive force case, where two college students were allegedly subject to police brutality during the protests sparked off by the death of George Floyd. Howard said that one of the officers was charged with “aggravated assault,” for pointing a taser at one of the students, because “under Georgia law, a taser is considered a deadly weapon.”
Can't make up his mind. Too much BS going on here to appease the community...
