Right??
And many surgeons behave like they own a patient?
You see, cops behave like they are occupants in the country, which is explainable by their military background. Problem is, the idea of the police is to "protect and serve", not to kill left and right.

"Toto, you are not in Iraq anymore".
By the way, this is one of the reasons why former military should never ever be allowed to be cops. In their mind everyone around is an enemy.

This is what happens when people hold positions of authority over others for long periods of time.

'The Stanford Prison Experiment' is a great example of this, the university experiment had to be stopped, due to how brutal the kids playing the guards were becoming, it happened very fast.

I support police reform !!!
What I don't support is the lefts knee jerk policies that prevent cops from doing the job of arresting criminals by tying the cops hands behind their back when they do it !!! No matter what people say the cop is going to be reluctant to arrest anyone and that doesn't serve anyone but the criminal !!!

A company or business or police dept. that won't stand behind the employee's they hire is going to have a high turnover rate !!! They end up hiring the best, of the worst !!! The employee is then set up to fail b/c they are the wrong person for the job in the first place !!!

If the Mayor's and the Police Chiefs have some of their skin in the game things would be different !!!
If they have the same liability as the rookie for what happens the public would get closer to what they want and all they should want is accountability with consequences with equal justice for everyone !!! This law in Colo. doesn't get them there !!! They will be back dealing with the same issues again at some point !!!

Nope, you don't get it.
Cops are needed.
Just not the the current ones.
And not with current perks of no accountability, zero required skills, zero quality, PTSD from military service, and, to be honest, low IQ.

Current cops forgot that they live in a society. Respect in the society can only be mutual one.
From the moment cops got immunity (read - zero responsibility), they lost respect to those who they are supposed to "protect and serve". Well, the reaction was immediate - cops lost any and all respect.

In fact, cops behavior these days rarely differ from that of criminals.
Just look at those thugs in Seattle: if you dress them in uniform, there would be no way to tell them from regular cops: same arrogance and bullying.

Violent crime rates are already on the rise everywhere that's been dumb enough to embrace the idiocy of #AbolishThePolice. The police are quitting because they feel like the government has abandoned them and the people hate them. Who wants to be a policeman in such an environment? Why put your life on the line when everyone hates you for doing so?

The tragedy is going to unfold in slow-motion. Crime stats take time to roll in and police are normally part of the process of reported them. Even with that limitation, every indication is that violent crime rates are surging faster than anyone has seen in 30 years. It's going to get worse because the all but a tiny few police are going to quit. Americans demanded it and they're going to get it.

In related news, it seems that Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan's "summer of love" has been canceled. Turns out when there's no police around, violent a-holes tend to show up with guns and kill each other.

If fewer people sign up for the academy, the local governments will raise the police salaries and benefits until they get the number of police they need for their city. Might mean we pay more taxes but their will definitely be enough police.

It really doesn't matter. The more money cops make, the more money they will have to pay out for a civil lawsuit.

Obviously you are not going to sue a billionaire for $5000 , or sue a guy who makes $30,000 for 100 million dollars. I have been to two civil court myself where i was the plaintiff (the sue'er)

Who the heck wants to be a cop in CO? If you act too fast in a life & death split- second decision, you will go to PRISON and/or face civil lawsuit. If you hesitate or act too slow, you will DIE. It's a lose-lose. This is why i don't understand the stupid ass comparison "but but what about brain surgeon??"
