I have years ago already stated my opinion that I would prefer Confederate statues come down, but that it was a decision of the locality and of the Democratic process.
What we have now is mobs of people who feel that they can destroy and vandalize public property outside of the normal democratic process. Many of the statues destroyed or vandalized had nothing to with the confederacy, but were founding fathers, or even abolitionists, or etc.
The silence is deafening from many politicians to the mob's actions not just on statues, but in silencing others.
Do you support mobs of people destroying statues outside of the legal process? If so, would you support mobs of people destroying other things that they don't like outside of the legal system? As long as mobs of people destroy public property, should we be surprised when militia types show up to protect public property as politicians won't let police do their job?
There's video everywhere, so I think every single one of the miscreants involved should be rounded up and carried off to jail. The liberal politicians are quiet because they're pandering and afraid to **** off their constituency, the conservative politicians are keeping quiet and letting the other side show their true colors. I suspect the conservative strategy will gain more support going forward. Most 'liberals' don't condone this kind of behavior, and realize it paints the whole lot of them with the same brush.
Didn't Pelosi just walk through the halls of the House the other day removing what she deemed to be offensive paintings?
This mad rush to remove history is just so short sighted, misguided and a just plain stupid move by our elected and the mob.
If anything the painting of some Civil War scene should serve as a daily reminder for our elected to work towards positive unity so we will never be forced to fight a civil war again but no they flat out don't care about history unless it meets their progressive ideals.
It’s time for people to start ripping apart non-white statues. Retaliation is the next step.
Imagine if what has been going on happened under Obama except instead of Civil War monuments, Chris Columbus and anyone else the mob views as wrong and bad they were pulling down statues of MLK?
What would Obama and the Dems do? Would they be sitting back cheering on the new "patriots" or would they be denouncing the nonsense and sending in the national guard to stop the destruction?
The Democrats have been trying to divide this country along race lines and they are succeeding at it now.
We shouldn't be hoping for retaliation because that will only up the anger and we all know how they can destroy 10 things that Conservatives respect to every 1 thing they hold dear and the media will throw a fit anyway.

I don’t think sitting there and taking it in the butt is working. Whites have been doing that for years. It’s time for severe pushback. They’re not going to stop.
They didn’t jump through much hoops when they blew up those Nazi symbols...
