Anyways, I am sure most Democrats will condemn this and you will see key Democrats come out in support of Grant as he was not a Confederate and a positive force for civil rights in his era.
Here's the first prominent Democrat I've heard who was given a chance to do just that, and... well, I'll let the audio speak for itself. We're not talking about some fringe figure out there who just happens to prefer the Democrats...this is a mainstream Democrat elected to the United States Senate:

Because they are afraid. Because most politicians are spineless and don't want to do anything unless they have to. And that is in normal times, right now we are living in an era of extreme Woke McCarthyism that has most leaders running to the hills.
Even much of the media is afraid to say something. So is corporate America, paying off protestors in the hope they will not be a target themselves.

Maybe they'll start doing something if and when it finally occurs to them the mob they are presently enabling are ultimately after THEM.
Honestly, I'm kinda looking forward to seeing the twisted logic they end up using to tear down statues of Frederick Douglass. Won't be surprised if they stick a MAGA hat on him and them lynch the statue as well.
Better option: The police can start doing their f-ing jobs and stop them, but for some reason, the police are pandering to the very mob that is demanding their dissolution and just letting them have at it.
