Typical leftist thinking.

FYI, the taxes paid by Tesla are not the most important part of this to the state of Texas. Do you know what is?

Jobs. As if that would not have been the priority before, with 40 million people now unemployed as a result of overreacting government decisions to lockdown our entire economy for several months, it has never been more of a priority than it is right now.

And then all of the newly employed will pay sales taxes, property taxes, payroll taxes, etc. So that will come to.

But first things first. Jobs.

Also, in terms of states with Fortune 500 companies headquarters, the top 3 look like this:

New York 54
California 53
Texas 50

If Tesla moves it's headquarters to Texas, that will lower California to 52 and raise Texas to 51, 1 behind. Stay tuned.

The article is WRONG. Musk twittered that Tesla has NOT exercised its right to buy that land. So Tulsa is still in the running for his giga factory. Musk wants production to start as soon as possible. If it was a clear cut decision as to where, he should have already made it by now.

It appears that Musk wants to keep Tulsa dangling in order to have an alternative in place to use as pressure with Travis County and Del Vale ISD with regards to the property tax incentives.

Austin appears to all but have this in the bag. Stay tuned....

Links to your claim about Texas outbidding CA?

No, that's not the reason.

The reason is the liberal cities/states eventually became too strained to continue to give the financial freebies they once did. That's all the conservative states are doing now.

And they think the end result won't be the same?

When Texas runs out of freebies the businesses will pack up for another state not ravaged by government freebie-drainage.

The reason why California was able and is still able to retain a good deal of talent/business here is due to the still superior higher education base as well as the weather/beauty. People of incredible wealth/accomplishment still need to have a release after work and driving down the PCH can't be matched in Fort Worth.

Texas won't have that advantage when the financial strain hits so they'll bottom-out harder and quicker.
You make so many claims but no source or links?

That's what the cons/Repubs don't understand.
Musk moved had to do with keeping his factory running during the pandemic and nothing to do with benefits.

"The 48-year old CEO of Tesla has been bickering on social media with California and Alameda County officials about reopening Tesla’s Fremont, California electric car manufacturing plant, on which the electric carmaker is unusually dependent, since its only other auto manufacturing plant is the newly-opened Gigafactory outside Shanghai. Recently, Musk took to Twitter to threaten to take his company and go home, if by home, he means new digs in either Nevada, or locations where Tesla is reportedly scouting locations for a new Cybertruck plant, Austin, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

“The unelected & ignorant ‘Interim Health Officer’ of Alameda is acting contrary to the Governor, the President, our Constitutional freedoms & just plain common sense,†Musk tweeted. “Frankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately.â€

Also, a politician said this to Musk F*** Elon Musk.

See I gave your sources and links.

They are not moving, they are looking for a site to build their new model.

Elon Musk says 'several' Tesla Cybertruck Gigafactory sites under consideration
Musk said Tesla hasn't actually purchased land in Austin, Texas yet, while Oklahoma officials say Tulsa is still in the hunt.

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/e...y-texas-tulsa/

Electrek on Thursday reported that Tesla made the purchase as it continues to hash out final tax incentives with the local governments. Musk said on Twitter the same day, however, that Tesla merely has the "option" to purchase but the company "has not exercised it."

When asked if Tulsa, Oklahoma remains in the mix for a possible Tesla production site, Musk simply said the company continues to consider "several options."

Tesla's main vehicle factory in Fremont, California has been struggling to find room to build new models since the Model 3 ramp-up began. Remember the tent? This new facility will be responsible for Cybertruck production and Model Y production for the east coast.

1. Austin is by far the most liberal part of Texas, as in the ratio of liberals to Republicans is nearly 2-1, maybe even approaching 3-1. While all of Texas major cities which range from 50-50 Dallas and Houston to liberal SA and Austin all are growing fast, Austin is growing the fastest.

2. Texas is opening a factory not moving it's HQ, it's good for Austin, but Alameda County is basically Travis County except their Republicans in Austin, while the Democrat leaders are 2 counties over in Sacramento.

The state income tax in CA is 13%, it's 0% in Texas. About the only tax advantage for living in CA is the property taxes are relatively low but everything else more than makes up for that.
