Tuning in numbers are meaningless. Many view Trump as a comedy show, so why not get an evening of laughs watching the boob tube. Trump is an event like a Super Bowl.
...and I was one of them. When I heard that there were empty seats, I didn't just take it for granted, I wanted to confirm, so I went to a Pro-Trump site, knowing they would try to make it look as full as possible.
I stayed on for a few minutes, but I'm sure I was counted in those 7.7Million.
A lot of people tune in just for the Freak-Show. A lot cheaper than trying to go to the circus. (not really joking, BTW. A lot of people do check it out, just to satisfy their curiosity.)
And some of those “curious” might just like what he had to say and he influenced to vote differently. CNN won’t help Trump win votes, but “attending” his rally just might.
