The Lefties are going to throw a hissy-fit no matter what Trump says (after all, his election shattered their plans for a faux-"liberal" hegemony) and the attempt to force "progressive" newspeak into journalistic standards is just more proof of the inherently authoritarian and Fascistic nature of their agenda. I'm sure that any number of minority-group members see this, but they know they'll be vilified and attacked if they express these sentiments.

People are sick and many have died from COVID-19 and still are, I don't see it to be something for an official to joke about.

I don't take it seriously, and I doubt it hurts his reputation abroad; every leader knows Trump's silly ways by now, so it's ignored.
