House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claimed on Tuesday that Republicans were “trying to get away with” the “murder of George Floyd.” The claim is not supported by any factual realities as Democrats control nearly everything pertaining to the area where Floyd was killed in Minneapolis.
In an interview with CBS Radio host Steve Futterman, Pelosi claimed that there were Republicans not wanting to go as far as Democrats in terms of police reform legislation because “they were trying to get away with murder actually, the murder of George Floyd.”
Futterman did not offer any push back over the highly controversial statement from Pelosi, which is not backed up by any evidence considering the fact that Minnesota’s governor is a Democrat and the city of Minneapolis is largely controlled by Democrats.
The Dems control Minneapolis - including the police dept. The Dems control Minnesota state government. And the Dems are the one USING the death of George Floyd to further their political agenda. So, tell me again who is responsible, Nancy?
The way a Minneapolis police officer restrained George Floyd before he died — placing his knee on Floyd's neck while the man lay on his stomach — is widely discredited by law enforcement experts because it can cause suffocation.
But the technique is allowed in Minneapolis.
Floyd gasped for air and called for help, but officer Derek Chauvin calmly kept his position for at least eight minutes, including after Floyd stopped speaking or moving. Other officers stood by as bystanders berated them and pleaded for them to check for a pulse.
... Most police departments in the U.S. don't allow neck restraints, said Andrew Scott, an expert witness on the use of force and former police chief of Boca Raton, Florida.
Minneapolis does. Its manual allows "compressing one or both sides of a person’s neck with an arm or leg without applying direct pressure to the trachea or airway."
...
Eric Hageman, a Minneapolis attorney who has successfully sued police officers in brutality cases, said the Minneapolis Police Department is notorious for racial problems and use-of-force violations. In one case he tried, Hageman said, jurors ruled the department was "deliberately indifferent" to civil rights violations.
I think they killed Floyd on purpose - to allow Antifa to embed with the protests that they knew would happen.
You got four cops there. One knee on the neck... one holding the legs... the other two standing guard.
They killed him in a location where it's a legal technique - where the cops will likely be acquitted. The family will get paid off with taxpayer money. This has all happened before. See Freddie Gray in Baltimore.
It took place where many local officials are likely on board with Antifa and without compulsion shut down the police - which is in line with what Antifa wants.
Actually accomplices of the Democrats are trying to get away with murder. They are not the friends of Black America.
Derek Chauvin was a Democrat. His union is democrat. His chief is a democrat. His mayor is a democrat. His representative in the house: democrat. Both senators from Minnesota are democrats. The governor is a democrat. Facts.
(Tweets have been not been displaying for me lately)
The Democrats have controlled Minneapolis for over 40 years. This is all, 100% on them and the voters there.
The protesters there complained of decades of police abuse, but what did they do? Continue to vote Democrat election after election, voting the incumbents in election after election.
They're not holding the people in control of those departments accountable and some of them that have a comfy seat near the front of the bus will step forward to support the wrong-doers thus ensuring they keep the status quo.
