What's interesting is that I keep hearing from my nephew that the D's are going to take back the Senate and every 2 years there is a new excuse as to why they didn't. This was supposed to be the year....but the numbers look like the R's are more likely to pick up Senate seats (currently, things change of course).
Timing is everything. In 2020 the Republicans have 23 seats up for election, the Democrats only 12. If this were not a presidential election year the Republicans would be toast. In 2018 the Democrats had to defend 26 seats and the GOP only 9. The Dems were lucky 2018 was not a presidential election year, otherwise they'd have lost more than 2 seats.
The election is still a very long ways off, but the GOP is struggling in several states. I think they need a lot of ground work and a lot of adds featuring rioting, looting and burning. Safety is a big thing to lots of people. Covid is a wild card too.

Now that all of that has now been demonstrated to be a flat out lie and part of an orchestrated coup attempt, the people know that they were aggressively misled by the media and the Democrats. Combine that with these radicals doing everything they can to destroy our country, live and in technicolor, this is going to work against them this time, no matter what they say.
Unfortunately not enough people understand how truly lawless and bad the whole impeachment fiasco was.

But don't believe it. That would create a real scandal. AOC is so high profile, it certainly would not go unnoticed or unprotested, the way the elimination of quite a few other representative's districts would.
Surely not. They wouldn't. Would they?
It could be AOC's district that gets realigned, but it doesn't mean she is out. It just means she and the other Dem in the other merged district have to fight it out in a primary. AOC has a small, hardcore base that can get her through primaries.

No, of course not. CA's "non-partisan commission" was a joke.

Yeah, I am dubious about the "non-partisan" nature of this commission as well. It seems doubtful that such a political function can be accomplished non-politically.
Congratulations to Democrat Socialist Alexandria Ocasio Cortez on her blowout victory in her primary in New York yesterday. With 100% of the vote counted, AOC received 70% of the vote, with her main competitor Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, managed only 19 percent.
As a conservative, I am very pleased to see AOC win re-election as the congresswoman from the Bronx, as this shows how strongly she is supported by not only the people in her district, but by Democrats across the country. This woman is not very smart, she does not know very much, she is an absolute radical socialist in no uncertain terms, and she has no filter.
She is a gift to the conservative movement and also to the campaign to re-elect President Trump.
So, with effusive enthusiasm I congratulate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on her win last night and her virtually assured win in November.
Well done, comrade!
ROFL, talk about damning with faint praise, or is it the other way around?
I guess her low information constituents identify with her and want a representative who looks and acts just like they do.

When old enough, she will certainly be a dem presidential candidate.
She is crazy enough and far left enough to satisfy most dems.

Too bad. MCC is a bad-ass. Unfortunately, her district apparently doesn't believe in capitalism.

What's up with communists and their hyphenated names?
Are elections democratically legitimate when the winning politicians have been supporting months of violent political terrorism in the places in which they are elected?
