Agreed. It's as stupid to blame today's black Africans for what happened 200 years ago as it is white Americans.
The bigger issue is that no one thinks they can shake down African taxpayers for the "sins" of their ancestors. Their leadership isn't as stupid as some in this country.

while I agree that nobody alive today should be responsible for the events of 2-300 years ago, the logic falls flat here in that blacks were mistreated up until about 50 years ago.
since then, there have been isolated cases of racism that should be dealt with on an individual basis - not a nation bearing the brunt of it in the form of monuments being torn down and private businesses being burned and looted.

So you're mad that the Africans who were involved in the slave trade did nothing but squander their wealth?

The Europeans built empires and long lasting institutions and systems of government and business that benefitted their own people (and then really, the whole world).
Africans and Arabs had a SEVERAL hundred year head-start in the slave trade. The Arabs built empires and wealth, and the Africans? Well, Mansa Musa was the richest man in history, and he STILL didn't build a legacy for his people.
Africa was conquered by the Arabs in the north and then the Europeans in the south because despite all that wealth, the Africans pissed it away.
Don't be mad at white people. Be mad - "big mad," as you say - at your ancestors. You know, the ones who brought your granddaddy to the slave market to be picked up by foreigners. Be even BIGGER MAD that your ancestors were probably the only people in history who SOLD THEIR OWN PEOPLE into slavery, willingly.
I mean, damn, throughout history slaves were usually captured against their will and raided in war and battles. But Jesus.... those ole' African kings and chiefs willingly sold y'all at the TRADING POST!!
Your anger is misguided. And the only reason why you turn a historical blind eye is because Africa and Africans remain comparatively poor and your shakedown wouldn't work.
