They can pay taxes as soon as Planned Parenthood does since your argument is against them being involved in politics. And no more Fed dollars to PP while we're at it.
PP isn’t a religion and when pastors start telling their followers to vote for said party it’s time to pay up.
President Trump on Thursday signed an executive order aimed at making it easier for churches to participate in politics, seeking to deliver on a campaign pledge to a community that overwhelmingly backed in him in last year’s election.
The order, which Trump unveiled with great fanfare in a Rose Garden ceremony, was cheered by some conservative Christians but seen as a disappointment by others, who said it fell short of the broader changes they wanted as part of a highly anticipated measure on religious liberties.
The order, Trump said, removes the financial threat faced by tax-exempt churches from the Internal Revenue Service when pastors speak out on behalf of political candidates. But some experts said it amounts to a mostly symbolic gesture with little likelihood of changing how the agency polices the issue.
Okay then it’s time for churches to start paying taxes.
Indeed.
The Arizona church that hosted his political rally this past week should lose it's tax exempt status immediately.
Any church involved in political organizing to change the laws or support political candidates need to lose their tax exempt status immediately, and retroactively to when their advocacy work got underway.
Anyone who claims to be a christian is not a true christian if they support Trump.
Natalie, since when did you become the moral high ground? Are you a Christian? If so, aren't you being judgmental? What do you expect of a true Christian?
I don't have a problem with churches and political activity.....
But I have a problem with churches not paying taxes.
I understand they are suppose to be non-profits...but that's not the reality.
Particularly those mega Evangelical churches --- those are businesses and should be taxed.
Churches that operate as a non-profit....using their funds to support their community, help those in need, etc...won't end up paying as much tax because they don't have massive amounts of revenue.
But churches should definitely be paying taxes like businesses.
There is a reason our Forefathers wanted a separation of
Church and State.
Trump seems to be against every single thing our Country, Constitution and Forefathers stood for.
He is the most dangerous thing to our country and Constitution in the history of our Great Nation.
(And especially if he lets this happen, they should lose their tax exempt status.)
We did have a constitution right? or he abolish that too? the churches have been political for a while listen to Jeffress-- its NOT about Jesus anymore.

I rather listen to the GOOD NEWS Jesus brought-- but these are hirelings - wolfs in sheep clothing-- all of them, but there will be recompense.. God is the jealous type
