Their state their choice. The only opinions that matter are those of Mississippi residents.

There is no beating around the bush, no ambiguous language.

The denials of the causes and the revisionary history, come later, by the Sons and the Daughters of the Confederacy. But no amount of creative writing after the fact can alter what the leadership of all these states as well as the leadership of the Confederacy itself stated very clearly and formally, right when they broke away. Nothing can be more authoritative than that, which is why the above speaker refers to it as a "primary source".
And knowing this, the persons who insist on flying Confederate flags and honoring Confederate generals (such as Lee, Davis, Wheeler, Beauregard, Early, and Jackson) need to answer this question? Why do so, especially knowing what the Confederate cause is about? You can't lean on "it's about states rights" or "it's about southern heritage". If it was southern heritage, then the Black population would be on board with it too.

Truthfully the designs of several flags of Southern states are inspired either by the official flag of the CSA or the Confederate battle flag (Army of Northern VA), including NC, GA, TN, and AR . Ironically, the flag of my home state, which was the first to secede and where the Civil War started, isn't one of them.

Well, I don't have apparel with any state flag on it. Ignorance is definitely bliss. The more you know, the more unhappy you become.

Because some of what you said sounded a bit like sarcasm.

Good riddance to rubbish.
The founders of the United States were traitors who turned their backs on their homeland of Great Britain. The United States has also not been the victor in every war it fought. Do you think we should stop flying the flag of the United States?

The founders were focused on building the United States....a republic based on democratic institutions. While extremely flawed by today's standards, the building blocks of a fair and just society is what they left for us to build on.

They were "traitors" to a King, a tyrant, etc.

The Confederates states sought to end the United States and build a society based on slavery.

I am not sure why it is so hard to understand the difference.

So many people just dont know history. Every single former Confederate state has reference to that in their state flag. Every one. But since it's not obvious like a battle flag in the corner it doesn't get seen.

Take a good look sometime. It's there for all to see. If you know what you're looking at.

By the left's thinking, just because some obscure white nationalist group uses the American flag, the ENTIRE country must reject it and remove it from EVERYWHERE!
The U.S. flag flew on slave ships. Vietnam was a disaster. What are they waiting for? Now I've got to go search for an original Mississippi flag with the confederate symbol on it before they're all sold out. These people are keeping me busy.
