Do you know that for sure. Around here if it’s a gated community I think the community owns the streets inside. They are responsible for all expenses, not the city or county and thus it’s considered private.
I do believe that is what the homeowners were afraid of.
They spent thirty years and what was obviously a fortune restoring that home. A Molotov cocktail through a window could cause expensive damage and loss of furnishings that are irreplaceable. There is absolutely no way they could be sure that there was not someone in that group who could do something like that.
I doubt that the protesters would post video of themselves breaking the gate. All we have is a short clip of the gate at the beginning. It could have been broken any time after that.
There is a sizable "No Trespassing" sign to the left of that gate.
The appropriate place to protest the mayor would have been at her office, not where she lives and where the neighbors would feel intimidated.
A malatov cocktail is the least of their real estate worries. That stunt means no one is going to want to pay market value that infamous house. Can you say Amityville horror? Value is in the land?

Yes indeed. The Community likely owns the street by any of a number of different mechanisms. But the lot owners do not own the street. They have the right to use it.
Interesting. The one sign out front says the private road is for residents only. So no repairmen? No postal workers? No police? How does that work? Do the residents drive out to bring in the normal services? Sounds absurd off hand.
From all accounts, the people walking by were peaceful. Not sure why these two felt the need to points weapons at them. Certainly no threatening behavior on the part of the those marching that would justify this.
As luck would have it, it is illegal in Missouri to threaten folks with guns.
Prison sentences and fines involved and a fair amount of legal precedence.

Alright. Please tell me what are the main reasons your clients buy in a gated community? And what does a community member generally do with someone who is not authorized to be on the premises and refuses to leave? What does a gate guard do if someone bum rushes the gate?
