To be fair, Trump didn't say to "Drink bleach" he said to "inject disinfectant" and yes it wasn't his shining moment.

Sometimes when your in intellectual conversations with entrepreneurs , doctors, ect. you may start to think you are one or be inspired by them. and i think thats what happened w trump.

he was hearing some very real ideas by intelligent people but didn't know how to properly convey them and accidentally said something incorrect and played on people's OCD. Its sad people have died from this though, bc i do know people who are dumb enough and OCD enough they may have gotten paranoid about the virus and tried drinking a little hand sanitizer or something,if they just got their face coughed on by someone or something, bc of the media , not what trump said.

ive heard of people drinking hand sanitizer
not one person from injecting disinfectant

the media said drink hand sanitizer
trump said inject disinfectant

They must be well off to be able to afford bleach.

NY Daily News... mmmm... it’s been a while - needs to be cross checked x2. Darwin Awards abound.

I’m not finding much sympathy for anyone over the age of 3 who drinks bleach. I’ve been saying for years that we need to take warning labels off of products and let nature work as intended. If you can’t figure out that drinking caustic chemicals is bad for you, we shouldn’t take a chance on you finding another idiot that’s willing to reproduce with you.

Not sure how Trump has anything to do with it, he never told people to drink bleach. Anyone who listened to him and thought he was telling people to ingest chemicals in any way whatsoever would probably not survive in a world without warning labels.

There are 32 million illiterate individuals in the US, probably many blindly follow the leaders in our community (that includes the POTUS), mentally ill, and the desperate.

The POTUS is the highest office of a community leader in the US. What the POTUS says actually matters. I don't agree that someone acting in that official capacity is privy to cherry pick what is or is not meant to be said... what is not a joke.. or what is a joke.

You know those kids that say something mean and then follow up with "sike"... I expect more from the President.

If they are that stupid, I have zero sorrow for them.

A person would have to be a complete low IQ moron to do such things.

Interesting. The study is from the CDC's weekly Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, which has been a staple of the medical community since 1930.

Here's an excerpt from the abstract:

What is already known about this topic?

Calls to poison centers regarding exposures to cleaners and disinfectants have increased since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

What is added by this report?

An Internet panel survey identified gaps in knowledge about safe preparation, use, and storage of cleaners and disinfectants. Approximately one third of survey respondents engaged in nonrecommended high-risk practices with the intent of preventing SARS-CoV-2 transmission, including using bleach on food products, applying household cleaning and disinfectant products to skin, and inhaling or ingesting cleaners and disinfectants.

What are the implications for public health practice?

Public messaging should continue to emphasize evidence-based, safe cleaning and disinfection practices to prevent SARS-CoV-2 transmission in households, including hand hygiene and cleaning and disinfection of high-touch surfaces.
