Given that the Democratic Party was the party of slavery, the KKK, and Jim Crow, should the name of the party be changed to assuage the suffering of modern blacks?

Yes. Let’s come up with some ideas:
1) The Bribe-People-Not-to-Work Party
2) The Criminal Support Party
3) The Destroy-America Party

When I read threads like this, OVER AND OVER AND OVER, I do have to wonder.
Do you actually not KNOW, or are you hoping to fool others with this incorrect rhetoric?
Those who used to be democrats - the Jim Crow folks, the KKK, etc., now call themselves Republicans and are sitting across the aisle at those who used to call themselves Republicans and had nothing whatsoever to do with the oppression of black people prior to the civil rights movement.
This is tiresome, andI sense you do know what you're doing, which makes it all the more tiresome.
At least people on facebook have stopped with this, because their real in person friends have smacked them down for it.
Anonymously, people on argument based forums can still keep attempting this.
Oh I'm so sorry. The other responses in your thread are so polite, too- pardon me for being childish.
