Is it dangerous to put out a flag or show patriotism this Fourth of July? (election, elect)

A friend told me last night she and her husband have decided not to put their big flag out near the road this 4th, as she is surrounded by democrat neighbors who were in town protesting the last two weekends.
Anyone else concerned about local democrats and anarchists targeting them on the 4th?
We will put our flag out as usual. If we don’t stand up to the anti-American anarchists trying to take over the country, then they will.....
This is absurd. Or paranoid. Or both.
I'm a registered Democrat. I fly the U.S. flag on holidays. My neighbors across the street (absolutely not Democrats) never hang a flag outside. Should I target them, do you think, for being anti-American?
Not enough in the world for this post.

I wish I could feel proud about my flag. I hope one day soon I will again. This year it stays in the basement and not because I’m afraid. I’m ashamed.
Because a lot of people are protesting police misconduct which is dramatically lower than it used to be?
It is almost as dangerous as walking your dog on a sunny day: DON'T DO IT!!!! Lighting can hit you even from the blue skies.
Most of the comments here have me not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
Like the Austin Lounge Lizards sing "We've Been Through Some Crappy Times Before".
One sure fire way to let your community go to ruin is being afraid to speak up due to fear of retaliation. IMO, that's how the drug dealers ruin a neighborhood or town or dictators take over a country.
What other nation on this earth has so many different kinds of people with their various beliefs, customs, languages, religions, etc living and working together?
Admittedly some of the hate filled name calling on here are demoralizing. I suspect if we were all having dinner at a friend's house that wouldn't happen.
Put out your flag. If somebody burns it, get another one. And keep on getting another one. No need to shoot anybody. Cameras will get you all the evidence you need.
Any movement will keep doing what they are doing until somebody tells them to stop it or they make their point. A little introspection may be in order.
IMO the intricacies involved in all the conditions cops and teachers encounter in a days work are too much for any one person to be an expert on. Society expects too much from them.
A golf course subdivision had that rule. No flags on the course side . A guy sued and win. A Texas HOA cannot prohibit flags.
they didn't win the one in FL...I don't know about the rest-- but leave the VETS alone damit
