That of course will never happen. The NFL has a very lucrative TV deal that covers the remainder of the decade and beyond.
If their ratings crater, then we'll just have to see how many companies who pay for commercial time continue to pay for commercial time. There will be fallout from it all, I would have to suspect.
The NFL will play the song widely recognised as the Black national anthem before every 2021-2022 season game as part of a $250million social justice investment.
I'm already not watching the NFL. It's going to be hard to not watch them any more than I'm already not watching them. They can take their social justice crud and stick it where the sun fails to shine.
I think it's smart politics for sports leagues to have a "message minute" before each game, then just get on with the match. By doing so you eliminate cultural issues as a distraction, and make the league look culturally sensitive and socially relevant.
