Yes! They don't want to. The actually don't want to protect citizens. They actually seem to approve of anarchy and destruction.
This past four months have been a real eye-opener for me. First we get locked in our homes for months, and follow all manner of minuscule and sometimes arbitrary rules, for our own safety. Which I did, because it was the right thing to do.
But not really, because the whole time I could have seen friends outside, socially distanced, with masks...but I followed the rules. We all could have done a lot of things safely outdoors, but we didn't because we are law abiding people, even when it makes no sense whatsoever.
And the government was willing to bring holy hell down on someone who broke their minuscule and arbitrary rules. They threatened this repeatedly. In NYC Bill DiBlasio said "If you go in the water (on Memorial Day) we will come into the water and take you out of the water." Right.
Then we have to watch while the same governments that were threatening us over benign activities, are letting this happen. Letting THIS happen.
this is just another attempt to bait Trump into federal intervention. Didn't work in Seattle, won't work here either. Eventually these miscreants will turn on the Mayor and/or Governor. Fun to watch. Will scare people into voting for law and order candidates in November -- exactly the opposite of what they intend to promote. $hit simple dopes helping Trump get re-elected.
I've been talking to my sons about the troubles in Portand. They both live there.
They said life is going on with no big changes at all, except for the Covid-19.
All those demonstrations and stuff are happening in one area, mostly around the government offices, and if a person has no reason to go there, there's no need to be alert or something.
It's the same small bunch on both sides, and both my sons said they've been at each other for years, like gangs are in a different city. One of them said they probably all know each other by now, and the cops know all of them. Quite a few are street bums, and others are in the local news all the time for some offense or other.
2-3 blocks away, no one knows what's going on at all unless things get noisy. For the average citizen, they're nothing more than an occasional pain in the butt.
But because that's the only excitement in town, the news cameras always show up. It's their chance to get their 15 seconds of fame.
The pandemic is messing with everyone there a lot. That's what my kids worry about. Both are grown adults, and their own kids are driving them crazy from being bored, stuck at home.
I just don't understand. That's why I'm posting on here--- it's better than ranting at the walls of my house. Four weeks of riots. Are governments completely incapable of the most basic thing--keeping order?? Do they not want to? I'm baffled...and furious. Yet somehow these same governments accomplished the Herculean task of lockdowns. But they can't get some buses, round up these rioters, and haul them off to prison??

Watch every video you can of psychologist Jordan B Peterson and you will understand everything. The mob is part of a neo-Marxists post-Modernist uprising. Their entire being is centered around chaos and they view any order as fascist. Just the fact of having white skin makes you privileged (A Marxist term) which makes you an oppressor in one of the circles of power. It's crazy stuff but these people, if left to full go to the end, eventually go out and seek to kill all the "oppressors" (anyone with authority or privilege)

That was in the early 90s, and it is crazy to see how all these years of post-modern indoctrination in universities has resulted in what we have now. It's very sad to see things unraveling like this. I've said a few times on this forum that many years ago, I read an article that there were people in this country who were pushing for this type of destruction. Marxists, Communists, had infiltrated our country, and have been slowly, over the decades, brainwashing people. They typically start with the younger people. They have been doing this in universities and colleges since I was in college - because I heard all of this bs back then.
I never knew at the time what the future would hold, and how true that article turned out to be, and to this day, I'm so ticked at myself for not saving that link. I'm talking 15 years ago I read it - and I would be trotting out that link at every opportunity right now, had I saved it.
Everything in that article is exactly what is going on, today.
Lacking that, I would suggest watching anything you can find on YouTube from Yuri Bezmenov. He was a former KGB agent who defected to North America. He was telling us this back in the 80s (I believe that was when most of the interviews or presentations were done). Every thing he said is exactly what has been going on, and very clear that it's been going on right now, in this year.

It's devastating that this happened under COVID when the people could not defend against it, but on the other hand the movement is very close to having critical mass but has NOT fully crossed that line, and thank God. We the free citizens now see them in the daylight and we can act to push them back and reclaim our young people, the ones indoctrinated that is, which is not the majority.
