Why would professors have any insight? They gave birth to this madness

Blake, good thread.. Part of the issue now is the full-court press to get everyone in college. It used to be a much smaller percentage of the population going thru the Marxist indoctrination. Now there are so many, easily accessible community college transfer programs, online schools.. it seems noble on the surface that college education(s) are ubiquitous. But it's creating an entire generation of militarized Marxists, with often impractical degrees and lots of loan debt.
I think a solution would be to prioritize trade training in high schools.. and like u stated, somehow return college ciriculums to hard sciences. And stop paying entry level hires more $ for (directly) irrelevant degrees. A new police officer shouldn't receive a higher starting salary (than a high school grad) for having a Liberal Arts degree..

This seems to be the trend recently, and I am on board. How on earth does it make sense to major in these useless critical theories and go $150,000 in debt just to work at starbucks or deliver pizza?

I think first there needs to be a push for skill based education and an apprenticeship model like the successful German system where wisdom is passed down. Then we need to reduce university funding to institutions that cannot demonstrate their competence. These colleges should gradually start cutting out pseudo-sciences and some should even have no humanities departments at all.

My insight is that it's a very stupid topic. Stupid topics get ridiculed. It was implied.

Because they see the effects of critical theory, postmodernism and woke culture firsthand in their workplaces.

Yes, but there are rational minded college professors who object to this stuff publicly, and I suspect many more who do so in private.

These 3 academics submitted ridiculous papers about how dog humping in parks reveals male rape culture and they took Hitler's Mein Kampf, WORD FOR WORD except they replaced the word "Jew" with "White Male" and they published the papers as fantastic academic research!!!

This is a travesty upon humanity, their little cult trained zombies are now in the streets pulling down all statues of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, trying to disband the police, and calling for an end to Capitalism

Time to strangle the leaders where they live, DEFUND UNIVERSITIES until they cut the Marxists out
Do you have any college degrees? Just curious for context.

Do you think it is a wise idea to defund universities and colleges? Do you think that's what will make the United States the world's power?

Do you hear how amazingly stupid that sounds? And we're supposed to take this seriously and engage with it like it has merit?

TS, posters aren't saying defund higher education at large. They're saying defund departments that are not teaching valuable workplace skills, and that are focusing on destructive & divisive critical theory.
A college kid focusing on Gender Studies, may leave college with an impractical education, crippling loan debt, and a chip on their shoulder. Maybe that is not a good investment.. pointing that out doesn't mean we're 'anti-science' or fundamentally against higher education. Peace.

Australia fires the first shot:

"Australia Wants to Deter Students From Studying Humanities"
https://www.courthousenews.com/austr...ties-students/

the cost of degrees in history or cultural studies will rise up to 113%, to around U.S. $29,000, while other courses such as nursing and information technology will become cheaper.

Trump will have to be creative on how to push this in the US
