If that doesn't destroy the Critical Race theory myth of group identity I don't know what does. Not only did blacks in America own blacks, but Africans were the ones who mainly enslaved people from other tribes and sold them to the Europeans for "export"
The Native Americans themselves owned thousands of black slaves.

I thought we were all suppose to understand by now, that the emotion driven narrative of black lives mattering, only applies when whitey can be made to feel guilty enough to pay in some fashion.
Thus blacks killing blacks, or even blacks enslaving blacks matters not. Only if it is a white person, does it matter, even when the accusation is false.
Frankly all you need these days (post Obama) is just to have white people within proximity of a black person to claim racism.
Black people can call fellow black people ******s with no issue.
But let a white person just look at, or accidentally brush up against a black person, and they are offended, scream racism, and demand an apology.
Some cops have been brutal bastards and equally distribute brutality among any and all suspects.
If it is a white cop being brutal with white suspect, and no big deal.
But let that same white cop be brutal with a black suspect, and all of a sudden it is racism, and we need to capitulate to the mob, to appease them and shed our collective white guilt and so called privilege.

The 1st "slaves" in America were indentured servants, many of whom were "freed'"after paying their fees.
One of the BIGGEST slave owners in America was a BLACK man.

As a young man he was apprenticed to a cotton gin maker rather than working in the fields and allowed to keep a portion of the wages he earned for his master and father, money that he later used to purchase his freedom. At the same time, he changed his name to William Ellison, after his father, to fit in with higher society. After purchasing his family, he moved to Sumter County, South Carolina and hired out other free African Americans to work in his cotton gin shop. While working, he discovered a common problem among freed slaves in the South. The expense of wages left him with a profit that would never compete with what slaveowners were earning. Wanting to move up in society, he purchased his first slaves in 1820. By 1850, Ellison had 37 slaves while his sons owned another 16. He was one of about 180 black slave masters in South Carolina at the time, most of whom were former slaves themselves."

180 black men tried to compete with the upper class white slaveowners. Not exactly an overwhelming figure...but you use that to justify slave ownership in the USA if you need to.
Exactly and not only that, most of them were mixed race. The white slave owners were usually their fathers. They wanted to maintain that middle position between white and black.
People want to one-drop tule them for their purposes but the truth is that for most, their mixed-race heritage is what permitted them to have slaves.
The Union didn't fight the confederacy to end slavery. Slavery was abolished for political reasons, not moral reasons. And literally everyone in the Union hated black people and wanted them removed from the country. The only reason they weren't was because there was no where to send them. Abraham Lincoln begged black people to leave.
THey couldn't just drop them off back in Africa? Its a big continent and there wasn't much resistance there. If they could have looked into the future today and see the mess and instability this has caused with no end in sight they would be speechless.

Justify slave ownership? Nobody is trying to do that. They are stating a fact that black people had slaves as well. It's a pretty hard point to miss. But it's one that you really would like to go away. LOL.

Yet this is the game they even play in modern times where someone who is half white like Obama gets to be called black.
But a 1/4 black, 1/4 brown person named George Zimmerman is suddenly a white guy.
Or the 4 "white cops" who are charged with killing Mr. Floyd. In reality one was yellow, and the other 1/2 yellow, 1/2 black.

Whites not only kept those Africans enslaved after bringing them to America, they continued to keep them enslaved for generations. That's after whites had already slaughtered and waged war on the indigenous people of America.
