America,

I hope you had a Happy 4th of July celebrating the anniversary of the creation, on July 4th 1776, of the greatest, most-free, most prosperous, most-just nation on earth. The place the WORLD goes to for Freedom, Justice and Prosperity. I offer my thanks to Messrs Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Franklin, Adams, Hancock and all the rest who faced the wrath of King George and offered their lives, their fortunes and their Sacred Honor that we may all be free, Masters of our own individual destinies.and Commanders of our own lives. I am humbled by their sacrifice and braced by their courage. Salute to them all, and to all freedom-loving Americans.

Antifa et al,

Go to hell.

What happened to the end of history?

I thought the past and legacy were irrelevant in the eyes of practical finance and the American dream.

Who are these people to an American more concerned about their car lease, processed-food supply, vacation plans, and housing payment?

All I know about Americans is that besides some empty gestures or signs, they could care less about where they came from or who they are. Everything is about maximizing personal income and anything else is pure foolishness.

I have no idea what you refer to. History hasn't and will not end as long as the Universe exists.

Perhaps you are taking a much-too-narrow view.

It was a popular idea from the 1990s based on this book: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_En...d_the_Last_Man

Pretty much all the goons that made up America's modern foundation after the end of the cold war, a symbol of globalism, free markets, and financial dominance found the term fitting.

Americans then, and now, like to think consumer capitalism is the be all end all of human life, and in that case history, legacy, and origins has no importance.

So where do these founders fit in, what do they have to do with America? Because most modern Americans don't care about the past, just keeping up with their preferred entertainment and consumption habits.

I think you should shred that book and forget everything it says. It has seemingly corrupted your thinking.

lol, I agree. But leading academics and politicians and business leaders from this very country upheld it as a foundational text for America's purpose and identity in the world.

They still do I think.

Here is America's biggest export and the foundation of our country. It has nothing to with independence day, George Washington, the Constitution, the Deceleration of Independence, or 'Freedom'.
