Master bedrooms don't refer to master/slave history.

"Master" of the house is the male head of household, the owner of the house. As opposed to "mistress" of the house, or "lady of the house" the female, head, subject to the male head in the home.

So really, "Master bedroom" is sexist, it assumes the head of the house hold is male, if you have to pic nits.

*master of the house, keeper of the keys, da da da da da da da dum dum dum earworm, And yes, there's a Seinfeld for that*

Example of Master and Slave in engineering......

Yes the terms may have roots in the existence of slavery, but that doesn't mean that using them in the context of engineering is racist.

And slavery has existed for thousands of years.

And even better example is The Master's Tournament in golf.

In that context, the word "Master" simply denotes those who are the best of the best players. Players who have mastered the game of golf, as in being a master craftsman or having mastered the English language.

And there's nothing racist about that definition or use of the word.....and implying otherwise is OPINION.....not FACT.
Here’s a fact: every word had roots in slavery regardless the language, but slavery isn’t racist.

Do you realize that I'm not disagreeing with you nor is the article opinion?

Do you know what "connotation" means? How about the term "context"?

When used on its own, Master means attainment of skill. Once it is used in the context of master/slave, it does have roots in slavery... that is called context.

Allow me to present you the entire English language where every word was spoken by the racist white men.

For the CNN and it’s followers, master bedroom isn’t racist. You may say it derived from slavery days but slavery has never been racist. Do you think when black slave owners keep white slaves, they would call their bedrooms primary room instead?

Only if white people use them, right?

You know because only white people can be racist.

If the left wants to end racsim and white supremacy. Stop speaking and stop learning the English language. All white people have to do is to ask blacks and native people to come up with a new language that is not related to indo European language.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/master

"someone (especially a man) who has a servant or slave"

Context matters.. connotation matters...

But it is not an opinion....

Which is probably why that wasn't used as an example in the article, eh?
