Mr "I've been wrong on every aspect of C19 so far" now wants America's kids and their teachers to resume classes as if the corona virus really did "disappear like a miracle."

OK, so schoolkids can't vote.

But teachers and parents do.

Is this clown really trying to throw the election?

What is up with him?

Schools are open all over Europe, Asia and Australia. Many never shut down. We should follow their example.

Kids need class room time, they don't learn well or at all in front of a screen. They also don't get the virus like adults. Also 60% of the parents will not make the effort to make sure the kids do their work at home.

Kids should be in school.

Have them wear their tin foil masks. Problem solved.

Those places all have positive test results of less than 5%. We did not follow their example in handling the virus. Why should we follow it when it comes to opening schools?

About the only people who would be affected are teachers over 50. Young teachers and kids have extremely low infection rates even below the flu.

You remember when you were 8 years old? You think you could have done your school work at home. How about all those kids whose parents work or the learning challenged that struggle even in classes.

Kids need to be in school.

I have relatives that are working trailer trash. It would be a disaster for their kids if they did not go to school. They are not unusual.

For real? You mean the president wants our kids back in school learning again? That maniac!!! No one, including the president, has said anything about the virus "disappearing". However, it is for that very reason that life must and will go on. The US already lags far behind most of the civilized world when it comes to the education of our young people. We absolutely do not need to get any further behind. Oh, and btw.

This just in: Many states are already planning to reopen their schools and colleges. So, I'm assuming this thread was started to give props to Trump for putting some pressure on states to get the kids back in school. Here's just one example of a state's plan to reopen schools.

Just admit it. If Trump was telling us he wanted to keep all the kids and college students home indefinitely, there would be stories from the same sites you linked for this thread telling us how wrong and horrible and stupid he is. Just admit that at least. It doesn't matter what he does. It will be wrong and you will be here to give us the links to the same old sites to prove it.

We do need to get schools open but how with an infection rate of 10,000 in some of these states. Both parents and teachers are problematic since the can easily spread to others in their personal life, it’s not just teachers over 55.

Just stating this is meaningless and just election year politics, these will be local decisions. What exactly is his plan, does he even have the slightest idea. It is important that schools reopen but this is just the usual Trump bluster.

It could be anyone who is affected. Obese teachers, cooks in the cafeteria, the old janitor, the school crossing guards, Officer Friendly, bus drivers who are almost all retirees. In addition, many kids in my part of the country live in multi-generational households. They live with grandma and grandpa and brothers and sisters who have diabetes, aunts with breast cancer.

I don't disagree with you about kids needing school. Just wish Trump and the governors had given more thought to the obvious consequences of opening bars and restaurants on the rising curve with continued inadequate testing and virtually no contact tracing. This crisis has been mismanaged from the git go and we continue to have to make tough choices we might not have had it been otherwise.

Throughout this pandemic, tRump has been 100% wrong.

Stupidly wrong.

Wrong in a way that's cost lives.

He's so...

...let me be charitable here.

Inadequate
