It worked tremendously well – in 2018, Republicans lost every statewide race, won less than half of the statewide vote, but won 63 of 99 seats in the state Assembly and a majority in the state Senate. Republicans used their majorities to pass the contested laws curbing Democratic power.

So the Republicans in Wisconsin basically Gerrymandered districts in their favor to win seats. In other words they cheated their way into power.
How is this good news ?

So you don't care that the Republicans used Gerrymandering to cheat their way into power?
The fact that they are unElectable doesn't bother you?
By the way not all Democrats are "Leftists"...well maybe to you they are.

If they were unelectable they wouldn't have won. Elections of consequences and thankfully the GOP played the game better this time.

Yep. I immediately zone those people who only seem to yap about Republican gerrymandering out.

Interestingly enough, Democrats in Virginia campaigned on created a non-partisan redistricting committee and taking redistricting out of the hands of the legislature. They won and, guess what? You guessed it, the issue is no longer on the agenda, ostensibly because they don't want the "conservative" state supreme court to be the arbiter of drawing districts if the two sides can't agree Of course, the makeup of the court didn't just suddenly change overnight, so the argument is a crock of crap.
