I'm not a fan of deblasio but if you're gonna have an issue with protests being exempt from covid restrictions you should have a problem with political rallies that flout restrictions also.

When many State and City governments said it was OK to protest (riot, loot, burn, be violent) in large numbers with no masks, nor social distancing it confirmed the virus over reaction and lock down was all an intentional SCAM. There statement was "Social Justice is more important than Social Distancing". However, businesses were and are still restricted. That showed the utter hypocrisy of these Democrat politicians and their bureaucracies.
Its pretty simple not only does he want their votes, he is well aware they would simply ignore him. And He would either look weak or foolish when the Police did nothing to stop them. On the other hand most other type of gatherings he knows the people their will be much more likely to actually obey the order or easy to threatened with Police or fines. Basically he fears BLM and He needs to learn to fear everybody else.
