The freedom we all enjoy comes from hard headed stubborn people that carry the ideal of "Live Free or Die". There are many Americans that simply refuse to be locked down for any length of time because they feel it is a violation of their God given Rights.
I still don't understand why we can't have a wedding (with no dancing allowed) or a funeral with more than 25 people present but the mob can go out in force and trash the neighborhood and dance on destroyed Police cars? I guess "freedom" walks a thin line there...
This is not Trumps fault because this attitude has been present since day one. Do you really think Obama or Hillary would have handled this any differently? Heck early on while Trump was trying to limit travel and he was being called a racist top Dems like Pelosi and Cuomo were telling people to get out and go to China town, go see a show. If this happened under Obama's watch he could have locked down the entire country but guess what people would still be out and getting together without masks or distance.
The virus took us all by surprise both Dem and Rep alike and the only difference with the Trump response and one that Obama, Hillary of even Biden would have had is that the media would have been on their side with whatever message they had for people.

I think you missed my point. No body in the world wants to give up their freedom. People are going to be selfish rectums whether you live in Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Sweden, etc.
The response to this SARS super bug has been the same response whether you are here in the United States, India, China, pick one.
Each country has locked down and closed up shop and eliminated all mass gatherings. Businesses here have been fined for not complying. People here have been kicked out of stores for not wearing masks. What happens if you get caught not wearing a seat belt while driving? All of these impinge on freedom, yet, people comply because they have to. Covid compliance is no different. Comply or be fined.
Oh stop with the what if of Obama or Clinton. No one cares about what if's. Aren't you tired of living in an alternative universe complete with what if's and look over there? The reality is over 130,000 people have died from Covid and still counting. Our country has more deaths than any other country. Wouldn't you prefer we be like Tailand with a hand full of deaths and no shut down to their economy? I mean really, who wouldn't.
That has nothing to do with what system of government they have and everything to do with the response and swift action Tailand took with honest dialog and science vs a gas lighting wind bag president trying to happy talk the virus away while it raged out of control. It had everything to do with Tailand having a stellar pandemic response team in place and activated on day one to stop the import cases. It had everything to do with "all the best people" in place vs the cronyism, unqualified people rewarded cushy jobs for being yes men.
Trump is now waging war on Fauci and wants him out because he is not lying or loyal to Trump. Great. Just what we need. Another yes man put in place not doing anything to try and stop this. Mean girl looked humiliated wearing that mask at Walter Reid. It's an admission that he was so dead wrong about this nothing Democratic hoax that will just disappear in weeks.
What's unfortunate is that you continue to try and defend the indefensible. You are in a shrinking minority.
My husband is a retired cop. He's dealt with con jobs and the victims unable to see that they were conned. They defend the perpetrator because they were so taken in and it takes awhile to realize that he's not coming back with their money. That's what you Trump die hards remind me of. You're slowly waking up to the fact that Trump is nothing more than a lying, incompetent con man.
The way Trump handled this pandemic is beyond evil. These Covidiot morons attending his ego boosting rallies? Beyond irresponsible. The message comes from the top. Had he not lied about this virus fooling the rubes to stay out there and spend money, there would have been far less deaths. This is an epic failure and if it has to do with "attitude" then your argument should have been why wasn't Trump's attitude honest and straight forward about the right way to deal with this?
No body was blind sided by the virus here. We saw it coming weeks ahead of time by what was happening in Wuhan and Italy.
Other countries got this right because of swift and early responses. We failed miserably because Trump lied and did nothing. The buck stop with Trump. Period!
