I put it here because its controversial and my question is 15k in property taxes!? Holy crap!
Can you blame them? Liberal run states are being DESERTED in record numbers! (smart people) They already have tasted the garbage from the radical liberals who want to destroy America.
I have a nephew living in Chicago, and 4 years ago, I told him quite forcefully to never get a mortgage in Illinois, because at some point, he will want to flee, and a rental lease expires inside a year, where a mortgage could keep him imprisoned there for years.
Our home is on 2 acres, and if I put it up for sale right now...it would probably be around $425k. We just got our summer tax bill and it is $1800, I'm guessing winter will be around $800-900. This is in MI.
Illinois =/= Chicago. Chicago is Chicago. The good people in the rest of the state have to deal with Chiraq's crap. Mortgages downstate are not as bad although for the same house I pay 5,500 in prop taxes I could pay about 3k in Lincoln, NE.
