It's extra weird, since 80% of Americans polled thought political correctness went too far.
They can't BOTH be right.
I’m surprised you don’t understand how the two results are not necessarily mutually exclusive. I suppose I will explain in simple terms: the world is not black and white. People understand these terms are meant to disparage a group of people and deflect from the president’s failed response to the pandemic. They consider their disapproval of these terms to be within acceptable realms of politically correct language, or for some, their disapproval is not an act of political correctness at all.
I've never felt any urge to call Covid-19 "kung-flu" or "china virus". I hear the persons who call it those terms. I see alot of immaturity and hate in them. If the main reason someone votes for a President is to "troll" people they don't like, then that says that those individuals think alot like 13 year-old bullies. It isn't helping anyone at all.
You were apparently raised right. It makes no sense to support an adult in a position of power and authority speaking and behaving in ways we would not accept if it were a 10 year old.
No, it doesn't help anyone at all, but those people do not care. They'll support "trolling the libs" as Trump and his ilk lead the country right down the toilet.
There are alot of illnesses that came out of China, India, and other countries. Why this particular illness? I don't recall hearing SARS being called "kung flu". To be blunt, I think the only reason people want to call it that is because of ethnic anger at Chinese people. It's called Covid-19.
People have reacted differently to this particular illness.
It has nothing to do with regular Chinese people, many of which have suffered for this is well. It's the communist leadership that people SHOULD be angry at.
The whole Kung Flu moniker is an entertaining way for some to remind us who is responsible for this mess.
