Agreed!

My issue is they shouldn't be enforcing an ordinance when they're not following it themselves.

there are face coverings that are less restrictive to those who "have a medical condition"

these aholes are the same ones who get bogus certificates for their "emotional support animals" to bypass pet rules.

"hot damn walmart makes me nervous, I need my puppy to comfort me"

No reason for the cop to ask for his ID NOR follow him to his car, he LEFT the store therefore didn't need to wear the mask and did nothing wrong. Cop should be ticketed for standing behind a moving car.
I hope he gets jail time.

OMG, I'm elderly now.

He was arrested because:

Quote:
A Louisiana man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly running a car into a police officer who had asked him to wear a mask while inside of a Walmart.
He caused a scene - disorderly conduct - and then did the bolded above.

I think the premise of the thread is a little disingenuous, at best.

He should have obeyed the cop when he was asked to put a mask on in the store. He chose to disobey a direct order of law enforcement. Had he given the cop his license while in the store the cop would not have followed him. He hit a cop TWICE with his car. He deserved to be arrested.

He was harassed because cop had no right nor reason to follow him since he was LEAVING the store

He didn't need to do jack, especially after he LEFT the store where he wasn't required to wear a mask. Cop harassed him and I hope the elderly man sues for discrimination and harassment. You can't ask for ID unless a crime has been committed, cussing is free speech, I have cussed at cops before and they knew real well arresting me was the end of their career and a big payday for me.
