I'm in a county with no mask mandate. Majority of people wearing them in stores. Kids have to wear them at school.
Death rate in my county per TOTAL population is 0.07%.
Death rate among cases? 3.2%.
Median age of my county? 57 years old. It's an OLDER population, in an area with kinda crappy healthcare.
Yet death rate? LOW.
Why? Makes no sense.
People need to turn off CNN and just go about their business. If no one knew there was COVID ... would anyone know we have a pandemic? Nope. Not at all.
Hmmmmm......visit your local hospital...if there is one...visit the Covid wards, that used to be regular ICUs
Then return and tell us there is no pandemic?
Better still...get it yourself and find out how you like ventilator..
If he doesn't so much as end up in the hospital over it, it will give old people confidence it's okay to get out and expose themselves to the virus, or don't worry about getting close to relatives for Thanksgiving.
Well, in this case with the bees, it only affects him but with COVID could infect others and that is the problem. We do not have freedom to endanger others. Cheers.
Others take a chance by going outside, near other people. They take the same calculated risk.
I would never go out to a crowded store, to a restaurant, a public outdoor place with lots of people if I were truly worried about my health. I would stay inside or go out when no other people were around.

Thanks to your niece from an older nurse! I cannot even fathom the stress our healthcare workers are going through..
We did not become nurses to deal with continued death....we much prefer nursing them thru a serious illness, then wheel them out in wheelchairs when they recover..

There is no stress, there is no continued death, there is no pandemic, there is no emergency.

I--- as a retired CCU/ICU R.N.--- am with Lola in hoping and praying for continued grace and wisdom and strength for the front line professionals and hardworking souls, in the hospitals, as they battle this disease. It doesn't take much imagination to envision their stress, pain and anxiety or to admire the fortitude & dedication required for them to persevere.
