Asians believe in much of the same values. And I'll bet that everyone in Hong Kong misses the good old days of British colonialism.
They've missed it from day 1 of Chinese rule, even more so now.
The British White Governor ruled from a huge mansion but he interfered in nothing. It was a completely free and open society / market with fair courts and judges that ruled properly. People in all cases were able to find justice and the freedom to pursue their lives. They would love nothing more than to have the British back in charge
